I suspect that you'll probably like the E. I've only owned a couple of models in the G series, but have found some definite variations. Until recently, I was not a fan of the G1 but didn't understand why until I had the chance to see one next to a G8. On the G1 I have, the safety bar is smaller and set further back than on the G8. This means that finding the right angle is more dependent on keeping the face of the razor against the skin. I suspect that it was an attempt to "improve" the G1 over the E series but may have backfired somewhat as the G8 is much more like the E2 in geometry. (FYI, I love the E2 and G8.) The J is not a bad razor, though. I think the trick is finding the right blades. Are you using the Chinese-made Schick blades or Personna blades? You definitely want the Schick ones for the E razors.
Interesting... I'll have to keep that combo in mind. I was afraid the Proline B would be too much blade for the E2.

I really enjoy this razor. Thanks to @twhite for organizing a pass-around last year with this type of razor. Also thanks to @Karl G for being so generous with pass-arounds in the past as well. I've tried several different razors due to their generosity. They embody the giving and helpful spirit that makes TSD a great community. Have a great Friday!

04.08.2017 First time using Liquid Nitrog... Sorry, Osage Rub as an After Shave. Great chilling effect! It will get much use during the rest of the Summer.
Razor: Colonial Razor The General Blade: Kai Captain Titan Mild Brush Handle: WildWest Brushworks Knot: Boss Soap: Nuavia Verde Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel Alum Osage Rub Aftershave: Chatillon Lux La Forest de Liguest First try of the General this morning and I must say that I like it. The light weight is going to take some getting used to but it was enjoyable to use. The Kai blade did the job, three passes and I ended up BBS with zero irritation. The blade did tug slightly so I'm going to try one of the Feather blades next. I finished up with this wonderful scent from Chatillon Lux. How I wish he offered this scent in an EDP. Have a great day folks!
August 4, 2017 Jamie's Night Shave. .. Revisited schick type I after a while, this is a I2 that I got new, and used a few times.. Loaded a fresh Personna 74 blade and had a DFS, since this is mild it takes extra effort for BBS, but I was looking for a quick shave. and this is wonderful. .

I believe you tried that blade with the Supply injector and got good results? I ordered some (I like the P-types in my General) hoping to improve the Supply shave -- I'm a bit disappointed in it now.
I've never tried the Supply, but if someone disappointed with theirs wants to send one to me, I will gladly dispose of it for them.
