Thank you, Clint! I didn't see your post until after I responded to Randy, but I really like the scent. A great blend of lavender and lemon, with just the right strength. I wasn't supposed to advertise this soap, as I got it before he had finalized everything with ATT, but now that he posted it on Facebook, I figured it should be OK to mention.

I didn't pick up on, (trying to catch up) that that was Stubble Trubble soap. For anyone who hasn't tried it, that soap is fantastic!! As in top tier. (note the unicorn endorsement.). I need more soap like a hole in the head, but that one is really tempting.

My main inspiration today came from @LevelupShaves , with his use of the PdP 63 soap. Quad milled, great scent, price is low, just make sure you load the Hell out of it, and it will just keep spilling and spilling, and spilling out a river of slick lather with each pass. I have had this tin for a couple of years, and it is still full to the rim. I totally put my name on it as being a top value/top performance combo.

 

I figured out why Adam @Drygulch hasn't been around much lately. He's starting up a new business venture.

 

Your daughter most likely warned him already. "Whatever you do, DON'T ask about the shaving gear! He spends all his free time on a forum, with a bunch of other people who have no lives - and they talk about shaving!"

'59 Fat Boy (E-4) on 9
Super-Max Platinum blade
Alum, Proraso Crema Liquida

Green tea & oat in the soap, designed for sensitive skin which I don't have. I do like the scent and the performance is Pro Italian Grade. Using the German pre WW II brush with the original knot and a Japanese ceramic bowl cool water lather happened. Digging through my blade stash I found a single Bulgarian so it got loaded for a test spin. Sharp, though I've used smoother brands it took care of the business in three passes plus some touch up. Got my angle off a bit on the rounded corner of my chin for a bloodless scrape. Alum only sparkled on that technique fail. Not too bad for an unfamiliar blade on a 3 pass number nine DFS. The Proraso Blue lotion is the New Improved version. Alcohol free and scented similar to the White soap.
I'm hoping the mild aroma lingers.

There was a pass around if a Type M. Might have been Tom @twhite that shared his Schick? Nice machine. They accept Twin blades. On my see one/buy it list.

 

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over. How did it come to August so fast? I'm taking a break from my straight for a bit, so maybe I'll finally get around to my Colonial General Razor. And I'm looking at some cartridge razors for travel, so maybe some of those will enter the mix.

I set myself up better this time. I put a fresh Astra SP in the Fat Boy, dialed it up to 9, and whipped up an excellent lather with Lisa's Natural. The Absinthe scent is different but I like it. I get hints of anise, which is not usually my thing, but it works here. I only counted 3 bristle defections this time. I'm usually a big fan of the Astra blades but for some reason it just wasn't feeling as smooth as usual. I played around with the angle a bit and realized that I needed to ride the cap a bit more. The thicker cap on the Fat Boy was throwing me off. The difference is subtle, but the slight adjustment made a world of difference. Once adjustments were made, results were very nice as far as reduction is concerned, but at the cost of some extra heat from the alum.
