Since it's the weekend....

 

I actually did have a postal employee question me one day about all of the international packages I was receiving. That was during a time I was adding Russian blades, some Chinese cheapo razors, Arko directly from Turkey, and I believe something from England, though I don't remember what it was. All in a fairly short time frame. About my third trip in a week to the PO to pick up yet another registered package one of the clerks asked me what was up with all of them. I told him, and this is a true story, that I was the Czar of a Russian blade cartel that was trying to overthrow Gillette cartridge shaving systems. My intent was to get the shocked reaction, or dumbfounded look, then laugh and explain that it was really all razor blades, soap etc. and all that, but as soon as I said it he looked at me.....didn't crack a smile and just said - "interesting". And with that he handed me the package and looked past me for the next customer. Since I haven't yet had any Federal agents knock on my door I'm assuming he figured I was being completely sarcastic and just basically a rude idiot.

Having said that, I would remind everyone that the secret meeting of the cartel intelligence committee to study the effectiveness of mixing grated Williams and Marvy together to produce a potential toxic slurry is this weekend. There, that should keep the NSA busy for awhile.

 

I don't mind it when I'm away from my computer. I have it on my tablet and my phone both. I much prefer the full web version, but in a pinch Tapatalk can at least keep me connected and aware of replies etc.

None of the above items are useful whilst shaving.

Try driving up the mountain out there and circling the parking lot after dark without notifying them you're on the way. You get to meet some very nice gentlemen who, when I tried that, preferred Jeeps. Must have been real outdoorsmen too because they had lots of rifles with them.

 

I had a similar experience on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay when it was still a military base. They had no sense of humor

Day Four

Ramped it back up to eight today with a fresh blade. It was the best shave yet! Day 73 of Arko. Other than that...all is quiet at the Kremlin, NORAD, Main Street in Lick Skillet AL, and of course....Colorado.

Almost...

 

In ND, we learned once just how sensitive the Air Force is about digging anywhere near missile silos. Their ground vibration sensors are really sensitive from a goodly distance.

Apparently is is a really small section of that pipeline that would be affected, and it had never been dug up before, so who woulda thunk it?

We also learned that they use a helicopter to visit and say hello.

I wasn't on the crew where it happened, I was on the back end several miles away. The guys who were there said it was an interesting site visit.

The Above the Tie Calypso R1 is up for weekend duty while it's the last day for the Rubberset 400 and the Dirty Deeds Arroyo Cactus. The 400 whipped up more than enough lather for three passes. DD is not nearly as slick as MW soaps which was more evident with the ATT razor. A three pass shave with touch ups ended in a very good shave but not quite as good as the previous shaves this week. However, I had no nicks, weepers or irritation so that's a win in my book. Finished up with a splash of Floid Blue and I am off to visit my mother today. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
