OK, I feel slighted. After 6 months of participating and checking the "cookie" answer on every single survey, I have yet to receive any cookies here whatsoever. Not one. Not even one of those tiny little famous Amos ones, much less a giant Martha Stewart cookie (with possible herbal enhancements).
In all seriousness, good to see the return of your snarky posts and your handsome mug, Charlie!

I'm actually liking the former $&@#% MWF.
Another very nice face lather followed by a four pass BBS. It's a great way to start a weekend.

I rushed and my technique was a little sloppy this morning. Still a nice shave, but ended with a few weepers on the neck.

FullSizeRender.jpg Back at home and time for the first shave with the newly replated Aristocrat. Used the Crown and Crane Tobacco and Amber sample from the Pass-around. This is a great smelling soap, although, like most soaps, the scent wasn't strong enough for me. (I have allergies so on a scale of 1 to 10 I prefer my scents around a 12). I was able to make the lather thick and dense or thinner and slicker wit extra water. It's a good soap, but, to me, not quite on the level of Stirling, B&M, and Catie's Bubbles. Followed up with B&M Latha Oceana AS - one of my absolute favorites!

Hey everybody! I know I'm late to the party.

I'm using a Merkur Progress w/ a variety of soaps and blades. I've been trying out new blades lately anyway and I 've got a bunch of new soap samples that I'm looking forward to. I 've been focusing less on smooth shaves and more on zero irritation lately.

I had to take a little detour from the Adjustables, as I got a little piece of personal unobtainium: the Gillette Sheraton. It is in decent shape with most of the plating in tact, just a few water spots that I need to clean up. The angle is a little different than a SS or similar razor, but I got very near a BBS. It was a terrific late more shave after some fun with the kids and puppy. I hope everyone has a great day!

Took a break from Adjustable August earlier this morning to try out the Lux razor I got from Fuzzy @wchnu. It was a Tale of Two Cities. I got a supremo, beautiful lather from the Cool- Only load for about 12 seconds with this stuff and use a ridiculous amount of water. That was the best of times. The worst of times came as soon as I put blade to face. Firstly, the Lux is an aggressive razor. It has a huge curvature with the top cap and base plate and appears to have quite the blade gap. I knew that and started carefully. Unfortunately, what I didn't do well, apparently, was ensure the blade was aligned properly. This hasn't really been an issue for me in any other razor, but there is definitely some 'wiggle room' with this alignment. It took me a couple of rough starts to figure it out. Not pleasant & my fault. Got the blade aligned properly and it was better sailing after that.
I can't say that it was a particularily nice shave after that. It was functional, and I didn't really cut myself at least. I needed some touch ups for the first time in quite awhile and the Sharp Star felt rough in this razor, which it never does. I got a DFS out of this razor, but it wasn't routine. Technique was solid enough to get a functional shave, but I need to spend some time with this razor.
I'm sure it is just coincidence, but I just realized that I'm reporting a disappointing shave and it is post #666 for me...
    Have a great day, all!
