  3. Three things in today. 1. A 48-49 Super Speed. I did not know the date and it was gunked up pretty well. It also had an O3 Gillette Super Stainless blade in it. The handle needs to be re-crimped. I am looking forward to getting it cleaned up. It is soaking right now. I also got the case with it. I did not have one of those.
And 2. I have wanted one of these since the first time I saw one on the TSD raffle. The Russian Rocket straight. It will probably be going to one of our hone meisters after I give it a good stropping and a test shave. I doubt it is in the best shape, but who knows.

And 3. I got four blades from @jimjo1031 to try out. Thanks, Jim.

  4. August starts off with brushes. One is my second Jayaruh brush. This one, carved out of Purple Heart, I have been calling the Plum. It is set with a 26mm two band badger with a 53mm loft. The second one is an Elite Razor faux horn handle with a 26mm Manchurian White knot that has a 50mm loft. And the one on the right needs no introduction.

  12. Today I went to the Lone Ranger parade in downtown Oxford, MI and picked up a soap from a local artisan: Sassy-Anne's Drunken Pirate Silk Shaving Soap. I came home and received a package from Bullgoose containing an Asylum Shave Works Evolution Stainless Steel Black Oxide Razor. I waited for the razor to arrive so I could shave with it. Honestly, the soap did not lather very well and I would not recommend it. I hope they improve the performance since they are located very close to me. On the other hand, the Evolution razor worked well - even with using the disappointing soap. There were some imperfections in the black oxide finish, that I think should not have been there, but that aside, I was very pleased and happy with the first shave.

  17. White Castle? I remember going in there at 3:00am when I was 18 after a night out. I never tried their coffee and never developed a taste for their sliders.
