I have a ridiculous amount of knives. That collection is bigger than my straights!:D

Mainly I collect Spyderco, but I have several select models from Benchmade, Case, Queen, and Schatt & Morgan. I have a smattering of some other brands too.

I'm known at work for carrying, as I will let people use a blade when they need something cut. I've also sharpened knives for some co-workers too.

At work I carry the Victorinox Cybertool 41. My wife gave it to me on my birthday a few years ago, she even had it etched with my name. All kinds of useful tools for work, but too big to carry without a holster.

  3. Why would a knife be against the law except on an airplane ?

My EDC is a Buck Tempest with an assisted opening. It's as fast as a switchblade, but legal.

Yes, I carry a pocket knife every day. Usually a Bladetech Pro Hunter Lite or Spyderco Military at work. On weekends I like to carry this sweet little Dozier fixed blade, the Straight Personal (bottom knife in pic)

Why would you need a pocket knife in everyday life?

JayKay 3000 posts and all I got was this lousy title

Theyre extremely useful. Ever need to cut something open or cut something off? Crash your car and fall down a mountain--Kill some animals! You name it, its helpful. Especially with the assisted opening that only takes a little push with one finger on one hand to operate. I love carrying mine.

I mainly use mine for cutting the skins on oranges and opening boxes.

Should I just do the short list?

Open a box, a package, or a parcel; cut strings off clothes; peel labels off things; trim fingernails; strip insulation off wires; turn very small screws.

It really is nice having a handy tool right with you. Mine is small enough I would never even think of it as a weapon.

I use my small pocket knife to open letters, packages, cut the foil off the top of wine bottles and on rare occasions perform emergency street corner brain surgery.

    I'll add to the list...

Cut yourself out of a seatbelt after a roll over car accident, cut someone else out of a seatbelt when their car is on fire, defend yourself when your firearm(s) fail or run out of ammo (some of these don't really apply to everyday happenings, but are things a cop/military man thinks about).

Those of you who know me, know I love well made production folders! In fact I have over 70 folders in my collection, but just recently (today in fact) I acquired a custom fixed blade that has found a permanent place around my neck! It's a tiny little 5 1/2 inch neck knife with a 3 inch blade, made of 440C with stag carved bone scales. The maker is a man named Jeff Morgan. He made the sheath also!!!

I don't carry a pocket knife but when I go camping, or fishing, I carry a Gerber multi-tool.

I am noticing that people that are not in the US are getting flack.

Well I guess carrying a knife in this country is ingrained in our culture. I was brought up to have one whether you were sitting on the front porch whittling a branch and drinking a beer waiting for the lawn mower to cool down, or use a tool for cutting, skinning, shaving, whatever.

Other countries, like, and please correct me, Japan, Sweden and German do not allow for this, I assume for public safety. If I remember my history you can thank Patton for Japan.

Lets keep that in mind. Once you carry a knife in every day life you really find yourself at a loss without one.

And likewise! Especially given the parts of town I have to be in on occasion. (Augusta -- or "Disgusta" as it's lovingly known -- itself is mostly a "bad part of town" . . .)

That's interesting to know. It's also known as the golf capital of the world. Watching golf makes you think it's surrounded by an upscale neighborhood
