I just swapped to a different flight that should get me out about 30 minutes earlier. Sounds like several airports along the gulf coast have been impacted.

I'm looking for information to assist new TSD member @Wants to learn. As I recall someone's sister does ceramic work, and may take on a commission? I've poked the Search Box, but haven't located any reference. If there's a clue visit in the "Hello" thread.

My sister operates Boise MudWorks. She is a ceramic artist and certainly does commission work.

Great pic, Doug! That razor looks very similar to an Edwin Jagger 89/ Muhle 89.

    Tuesday shave

Touched this razor up on a Zulu Grey and it had a silky smooth edge and sharp. I don't seem to get as sharp and edge as do on Shapton glass 16k, maybe I need to do more laps on the Zulu. Four passes with the sound of velcro being peeled apart, this is a loud razor. Zero irritation, zero blood and a smooth face.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A

    Razor: Dovo Masters
    Strop: Harold Russian leather

    Brush: Simpson Tulip 3 super
    Pre: Nivea
    Soap: Castle Forbes
AS: Alcolado Glacial from the fridge
    Scent: Creed MI

This evening I had my first shave with Colonial Razors "The General" and it was different. The wider blade of the Feather Pro took some getting used to (and probably will for a few more shaves), and the razor definitely has some heft to it. Think I'm going to need to work on my arm curls and build up some arm strength.

The Feather Pro seemed to tug, but did the job. Definitely interesting. And no blood.

Monday evening August 7 - new MWF focus

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 1 )
    Jason's non - 30DC Cypress Badger brush
Kent / MWF in wooden tub
    Alum and Clubman VIBR

I let a bit of water soak into my puck of Mitchell's Wool Fat off and on for the last couple days until the cracks have all disappeared and the puck has expanded to fit the wooden tub exactly. I am now going to use it steadily over the rest of this month, possibly interspersed with an occasional new soap or cream sample test. I have a theory I want to test that MWF gets easier to use the more regularly you use it simply because the puck stays wet. It seems to me that MWF in its natural state has a fair amount of water content - closer to a cream or croap than to a triple milled soap. And it dries up on occasional users, so when they do use it, the first half of their lather attempt simply replaces the water previously lost by the puck and only then does it start actually producing usable suds. Which creates a difficulty producing lather that a daily user will never experience.

At least that's my theory. Like many of my theories, it may be total horse byproduct.

Today I face lathered the Fat using my badger brush. The damp brush loaded quickly from the well-watered puck. The face lather was a pleasure. The more I use it, the more impressed I am by this Maggards 24mm two - band badger knot.

The shave was slick and smooth with two passes bringing home the baby, although I wasn't chasing it. No complaints from the alum. A pleasant wakeup burn from the VIBR. I am refreshed and ready for my nightshift.
