Here is a pic of Stirling bottles that would have been dated late 2014 on the left, to today. I think a couple of the old ones were from the Texas days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Jared. It looks like they went from one type, to the cylindrical type, and then back to the original type, but with a new label. I just got some Barbershop that is in a green cylindrical bottle, and I was wondering how old it could be. My others are all in the newer bottles like those on the right, and I bought those new directly from Stirling, but the Barbershop is one I got secondhand. It still smells great and the scent lasts a long time.
Just had a great shave with Orange Chill followed up with Orange Chill witch hazel. I can tell it's gonna be the perfect menthol witch hazel for fall and winter. If you haven't tried their witch hazel you're missing out!
Me too. I really like the new labels Rod and Mandy came up with, but there was something very "old-fashionedy" and cool about the old brown ones.
It was based on Liz Claiborne's "Curve" which was a medium/heavy-er cologne type scent. (To my nose....) My wife likes it, and I wore it quite a bit one winter. I guess it didn't do especially well. Rod basically told me there would be ice cube trays in Hell before it came back, so I have sort of been hoarding the ounce or so I have left.
So my wife, who never ever comments on my shaving supplies, came in today to find out what smelled so good while I was shaving. Answer? Glastonbury. What??? I mean, I agree, but I was shocked. After further exploring, she also liked Iced Pineapple, Gentleman, Tuscany and Sharp Dressed Man. Baker Street got the "I think I like it, but there is something about it I am unsure of". She is not too keen on the scent of menthol though. The glacials all had her giving me the stank eye. Her kryptonite? Port Au Prince. I dig it. She decidedly does not. At all. Not even a little. She begged me not to open it again around her, lol. It was the first time we ever talked about scents together. It was informative and interesting. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
My order of The Lounge soap and 6oz green container has shipped! That was quick. Looking forward to trying it out.
I had a wonderful shave this morning thanks to the Electric Sheep sample - man, that little lamb is still bahhhing away. Its scent is going strong enough so that when my wife passed by my bathroom (yes, we have a His and a Hers!) she said she could smell it. She so graciously and generously bought me a 5.8 oz green jar of this soap with that cool, psychedelic label so when I finally knock off the sample I'll get started on it. I don't know where my brother-in-law comes off telling me that this soap smells like...............Williams, of all things. Hell, on its best day Williams couldn't lather even half as well as Electric Sheep, let alone give me the moisturizing, soothing skincare that I get from this soap. For tomorrow I'm using the regular MITA so I could have a good middle-of-the-road menthol effect.
I jumped on it today too. The Agar was no longer available, so I didn't want to wait too long and miss out on this one.
I had lots of fun lathering up with the MITA soap this morning. Although it's much less mentholated than the Glacial version it still delivers a very good menthol effect which feels great!
