I think I'm finding that my favorite way to use MWF is face lathering. I just had a very slick four pass shave. I'm smooth and feeling good

9 August 2017 Wool Fat Wednesday OLD Blade Focus Shave

Pre: Hot water, soap from the puck, hot towel
Razor: 1911 Gillette Single Ring OLD Type
    Blade: Voskhod Teflon Coated
    Brush: Rubberset 303
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap
Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: The Clubman

It's Wednesday and that means MWF! Old school shave today. OLD razor, Mitchell's Wool Fat and Clubman A/S. Don't get much more old school than that.
The Rubberset 303 whipped the Fat into a great lather. For its age the knot is really performing great.
2.5 passes with the OLD/Voskhod combo and I was nearly BBS.
Splashed on some Clubman to top things off and away I went to work.
Have a great shave, have a great day!

    Osage Rub
    Aftershave: Chatillon Lux TSM Fougere

Fantastic shave this morning! The MDC and Chatillon Lux pair well together and are both incredible products. I switched from the Kai blade to the Feather and saw an immediate difference. The Feather didn't tug and with three easy passes I'm BBS. I have 9 more blades from my sampler but I don't know how I'm going to top this Feather. Have a great day folks!

Great picture. My guess is you'll be hard pressed to surpass the Feather Pro/General Combo for smoothness and efficiency.

    STD-301 - Dollar Store

I'm saving the Dollar Store blade for last. Since the other three are all potentially the same or near enough to the same, leaving the STD until the end should give me a good idea of how different it is. I'm thinking, though, that just having the designation of STD may already give us a hint!

An SE boxcutter blade. Shenanigans. I know.......NEVER........but........this is the 30DC thread. Home of the most daring and courageous shavers in the world. Though some would substitute "deluded" and "stupid" in place of daring and courageous.

It's a no shave day for me. I am traveling home and felt a little lazy this morning. Hope everyone's day is going well.

I don't need no stinkin' pre shave. I've had a few pimples pop up lately, so I'm seeing if skipping the Proraso red pre shave will help. I didn't notice a difference not using the pre shave. I got a great shave today.

I also put filled the sink with a bit of hot water and put my bowl in the sink. It keeps the lather nice and warm and seems to keep it super slick. Win.

Second use of Through The Fire made soap marketed by Maggard. I over estimated the quantity needed on my previous use. That left a smear in the textured bowl and it was plenty for today's shave. The scent is more rind than fruit or I'm smelling bergamot. Nice thick slick lather using cool tap water. Not so impressed with the DE blade. Only my second use and it just feels less than sharp. That is my Focus this month; run odd blades through the #195. Next shave will be with something else. Alum was a little sparkly. It didn't smell like fried penguin, thankfully no pink sparkles. (;) @RetLEO-07) After using both Lime Sec & Citrus Musk I don't have a favorite - enjoy both!
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Same, here. I tried Shave Secret for a month or more. When I stopped using it there was no difference I could see. Less is More.

    Surrey w/ TGN 3 band 24mm synthetic

Last night I shaved with my Henckels Rapide blade that Adam @Drygulch honed for me. This was by far the most comfortable shave I've had with a hollow ground SE blade. I still experienced some tugging in the mustache and goatee areas on the first pass, but I think I can attribute the roughness in those areas to trying to shave with too shallow of an angle. After 3 passes I was left with a SAS shave but wanted a little more so I did a full fourth pass with my RazoRock Baby Smooth. I also used my newly re-knotted Surrey brush that Jim @jimjo1031 did such a wonderful job on. Not only did he replace the knot but he also polished up the plastic, and I think it looks amazing! The fibers of this knot feel a lot like the fibers in the Simpson's synthetic, although the knot isn't nearly as dense as the Simpson's. After a 15 seconds load I was able to make a bowl full of lather and had plenty to spare. Have a great evening everyone!
