I got this 20 blade dispenser today. Never been opened. I am going to open it because I believe it will go with my 48-49 Super Speed with case. From the color of the dispenser on the back, I am thinking it is 48 or 49.
thank you.i purchased it to go with the gillette blade bank shown earlier in this post.according to mr razor ,this would be a #26 razor/bank set.while this set was built from pieces(handle has a different pattern),its good enough for my rotation/collection.gary.
british 4 piece tech cleaned, and placed.good enough for me.handle pattern different than the mr razor picture but same era razor.. british version has this handle, found on a different site.
Early 1930s (I believe) Rotbart, brass handle and top cap). . Gibbs No 17 Adjustable (chromed Zamak? Brass?? head). Date unknown to me (1937-50s). Unfortunately the plastic is broken and therefore it's a bit of a pain to take the razor apart, but otherwise it's a beauty. From what I've been able to discern there were two versions of the No 17 produced, distinguished most easily by the location of the red adjustment dot, either on the top or at the center of the adjustment ring. This one is the former type, which I believe to be the later version. Razor patent 1935, blade patent 1937. I can't believe there's not a more fulsome thread on TSD on the Gibbs. My MDC Agrumes came in. What an incredible citrus scent. Now I need to find an aftershave that matches.
I have been using Proraso Pre-Shave Cream for a while now. I got about a half bottle in a pif. I decided it was worth replacing. I found this one through Wal-Mart for $9.90 with free shipping. It was by far the best price I could find. It came in today, and I only had about three shaves left in the old bottle. Just in time.
If I were a SR user this would be the kind I'd want. * I have no idea what is what but this looks like my style
So I saw this SR today and had not planned to pick it up but the price was right so I got it. It says "The Barbers Delight" on it but it has no other markings . Don't know anything about it, but I guess I need to start watching SR youtube videos because this baby feels shave ready! Also I want to learn to make scales from wood/acrylic blanks and figured this would be a good test mule. Box is for a wade butcher but I was happy to have something to keep it in.
