Today's shave was once again brought to me by the following: Razor: Gillette Fat Boy Blade: Astra (that's probably past its prime) Brush: JR113 Soap: Arko Not sure what my problem was today. My face was just starting to get stubbly from yesterday's shave. I lathered up with the Arko and performed a XTG pass. Everything went fine until I lathered again and started the ATG pass. Still trying to ride the cap, and being mindful of the angle, things went south from there. I had a trail of red on my neck, from my Adam's apple to my chin. And a few other weepers here and there. Yep, I was stretching the heck out of my skin as well. I did end up with a smooth face, but the trip there wasn't pretty. I'm sure it was all technique issues, but I think it's time for a new blade. I think I have 8 or 9 on this one. Hopefully everyone else had much better shaves today - and a good day in general!

Well I'm late to the party once again, but still enough time left in this month to get Adjusted. So although there appears to be a bias against this razor in this month's poll question... Ladies and germs I present the Schick M Adjustable, it'll be performing here for the rest of the month! (though based on my track record in these parts lately, I'll be happy to report on it at least once during that time!) Cheers! RT
While I'm learning DE technique, I'm not even trying to push my blade life past about four shaves. I wonder if the Astra was just Legit toasted...?
Well, I'm still going to blame it on technique. I'll man up and not blame it on the equipment! One other factor might have been that I got brave. Or cocky. Or just plain dumb. In addition to having that many shaves on the blade I did dial it up to nine. Even still, I still give myself weepers about every shave. Normally not many, but a few. You certainly have the right idea changing blades after three or four. Needless to say, the one I used today will be tossed out. Than I can totally blame my incompetence!
