I made this seven razor stand from a piece of oak and finished it with polycrylic finish. I put felt pads on the bottom of the stand to keep the wood from contacting the counter. It is made with 3 inch handles in mind. The holes are big enough to accommodate the big end Schicks.
Nice work, Jim. One suggestion tho.... how about a bit of a conical divot in the bottom piece right under the hole so that the longer handles don't splay outside the rack. Having the handles fall out like that would drive me a little (more?) nutty.
How about a wide drill bit and just don't drill all the way through? Or, search Amazon for a conical divot thing-a-ma-jigger. If they don't have one, try eBay.
Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I think I may have a 1/2 inch twist drill. I may even have a 3/4 inch one.
OK, guys. I did it. I found my 1/2 inch twist drill, and I made divots in the bottom. I sanded and put a coat of polycrylic on it. I will get some pictures later so you can see that it is new and improved. Check back later.
Yeah, it didn't work for me either. So, I tried conical divot thing-a-ma-jigro That didn't work either...
They're made specifically for razor handles. Razor handle conical divot cutting bits. They make two kinds: Safety Razor handle conical divot cutting bit and Straight Razor handle conical divot cutting bits. I think I special ordered mine from Harbor Freight. I'm betting that tightwad, Jim used a drill bit
