I cracked open a puck of the Col. Conk Glycerine LIME soap a few weeks ago.
This is the 3rd puck from a 4-puck sampler that I purchased several years ago.
I have tried to like these "glycerine" soaps. And to be honest, they are not bad.

There just seems to be something missing every time I lather one up.
They are fairly slick, but I always feel let down as I shave. The lather is just not as rich as I expect.
And the scent is nice, but... lacking something... personality. punch, something memorable.
I just needed to DO SOMETHING!
So... I melted the soap into a mug, drizzled in a bit of BOOSTER Barber Shop Classics ICED Lime AS

AND...

dropped in a puck of Williams Mug Shaving soap.

This hybrid combo makes a great Super Lather with a wonderful lime scent.
It makes ALL the DIFFERENCE!

Sorry that I "molested the Williams."
I admit, I have done it before, but I went and did it again! I couldn't help it.
Please forgive me.

Maybe the last Col.Conk puck - "World Famous Shave Soap - ALMOND" will be more notable.
Then I wouldn't be tempted to do it again... maybe....

Challenge Accepted! Thanks for the inspiration, Sir. I have portion of a stick of vintage Williams and a puck of Col. Conk lime. Don't know if I'll commit to using the what's left of the stick, but I will give the combo a shot.

RyX, I regularly use the soaps that are available locally. That includes the VDH Luxury, Premium, and Williams Mug.
I find more variety available in shave creams, but for the past few years, I have perfected face lathering and migrated away from the creams to the soaps. I do play around by mixing things in to get the "super lather" and have been pretty well pleased with the results. Don't always post though.

Glad you were inspired to try it out. It's just one more way to use products we have laying around AND keep the interest in wet shaving alive.

I will take this opportunity to share my favorite "Frankensoap" recipe. Apply Arko shave stick to the face. Face lather with the Fat over the top.

I call it the "Fatko".

did you use new Willams or vintage Williams (tallow)?

New Williams- it has tallow too.
I haven't used vintage- or if I did, it was many years ago when I bought it new.

What year is considered "vintage" anyway. I don't know.

I've also used "vintage " Old Spice shave soap too- but bought it back in the day when they had it in the stores. Been wet shaving since the '70's.
