Thank you Andrew. Even though I don't need more soap, I couldn't help myself given the proceeds were going for a good cause.

Not diffacult to stay on Focus with my #195, but this'll be last use of the Sputnik blade. It's showing signs of being done; just a little tug & not so smooth. First lather with a sample of Catie's Bubbles. The scent is rose with orange, lime, eucalyptus, cedar, juniper, and pine. Lots going on there but it works! The soap base face lathered easily using a High Mountain badger knot from Whipped Dog. Plenty of glide & residual slickness. After my three passes + detailing, alum sparkled a little all over. Blaming it on a blade past it's prime. Being my Focus to try out lesser blades this month the Sputnik is in the Approved category. New to me AS from Barbasol leaves me feeling comfortable and the scent is nice for $1.79,

    SharptoothC I bite..........

Today was was my first shave since the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad shave of two days ago. Two days of rest and Palmer's Cocoa Butter got rid of all the irritation and gave me a clean slate.

My first inclination was to go back to the hair of the dog that bit me. Then I remembered that pride goeth before the fall, and set myself up for success.

    Gillette Fat Boy
    Astra SP
    Omega 10049
    Route 66 Bourbon Jungle
    Fine Platinum
    Schick Krona (head shave)

@SaltyBelle killed it with this soap. Out of 30+ soaps, this remains my favorite scent. I just adore it. Still waiting on the cologne (please?).

I took my time, watched my angles, did two passes with some cleanup, and restored balance to the shave universe. Super shave today. Now, out to face the nasty, sweltering, humid triple digit weather and buy school clothes for the kids.

Today's shave was brought to me by the following:

Razor: Baxter of California (Muhle R89)
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Brush: JR113
    Soap: Cella

I felt a little guilty abandoning the Adjustable/Arko August. However, with all the blood I spilled (Ok...actually just a number of weepers! Just being a drama queen here!) during the last several shaves, I decided to change things up. I know this goes against conventional wisdom of sticking with one setup, but hey - so sue me!

After loading the JR113 with Cella, I got a very nice face lather and got down to business. I stuck with a "modified" three-pass shave, going WTG, XTG on the cheek area, WTG twice on the neck area, and followed up with a gentle ATG. I paid attention to pressure (or lack thereof) and angle. Skin stretching certainly helped, especially with the trouble areas. Things ended up nicely, with only one small weeper (a small existing blemish on my cheek). Waayyyy better than the last few shaves!

After some witch hazel and Nivea after shave balm, I splashed on some Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla. And, for a change, Mr. Pinaud didn't scream at me! :) A little tingle, but not a face full o' fire!

Since there aren't any formal judges here, I'll go ahead and call it a DFS.

Happy Friday and happy shaves everyone!!

Thank you, Andrew. I had a few Astra SP and Treet Silver blades that came with my Razorock Mission razor when I first started. I also got a tuck of Rapira SS blades at the same time. The Rapira blades worked better, so I threw away the others in a lack of good judgment.
