    NCoxSTL AAACK!

The dispenser does add some cost but it isn't exactly a high quality item either. In order to supply the volume for Dollar General/Family Dollar (over 21,000 total stores) they have to be producing quite a few. Figure 5 packages per store in stock (which is what the one here had on the rack), so 25 blades per location would be over a half million blades on the shelves with production to replace sold inventory to keep up. They probably market to other dollar store types as well so that's probably not the total number. The MBA in me thinks they're making a pretty penny on that blade given its considerably higher retail cost than the others.

When I just don't feel well I seem to more fully appreciate a trouble free lineup and this morning is one of those mornings. Everything clicked for a 3 and 1/4 pass near perfect shave. A splash of F&C Capri and I am off to the office. Since schools unofficially closed for the eclipse today, traffic should be light. I plan on finishing up at the office long before the actual eclipse. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Another DFS this morning with same stuff as yesterday, save for the Jayaruh#59 brush. I almost quit after the first pass, but felt some fuzz around my chin, so I decided for the full second. Let's see if I get the Stirling A.S. samples today!!!

21 August 2017 Adjustable August Menthol Monday Shave

Pre: Hot water and a hot towel
    Razor: 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Omega 6212 Silvertip
Cream: C O Bigelow Premium Shave Cream
Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
After Shave: Proraso Green Lozione Dopobarba

This morning I went with COB for Menthol Monday. The 6212 whipped up a fine lather. If you're new to the game, COB is a great starter cream.
Bath & Body Works sells a small tube for $5 and the big tube for $10.
It's made by Proraso, so you know it's good:).
The Slim/GSB duo took 2.5 passes to assassinate my weekday stubble. Since I'm now J hooking my lower neck, that 2.5 pass shave is either BBS or DFS. This morning it was BBS.
Splashed on some Proraso Green and it was off to work.
If you're so inclined, enjoy the eclipse. Gonna hit here about 1430 or thereabouts.

Great picture, Perry. I have the Glacial Lemon Chill AS, and will have to add the soap at some point.

    Beautiful picture and razor, Brian!

Excellent picture, Clint! The razor looks fantastic.

My shave yesterday left me BBS, so I wasn't in desperate need of a shave today. Of I hadn't been coming to work, I would have skipped. As it was, I I got a nice shave with the Fatboy. I really enjoy the CO Bigelow cream as well as the Proraso AS. A great start to my week. I hope everyone has a great day!

Probably true. We also don't know what other markets they have for those blades worldwide. Also, I suspect that nothing says profit like false economy. :)

Great photo Jim. I really like the CO Bigelow SC. I think it works worlds better than the Proraso Green Soap. I am sure its a YMMV thing.

Thanks. It's a favorite. My dad used this one when I was a child and it brings back memories.

Glad to be back home after almost a week away. Back to Adjustable August today and switched in a Polsilver, which is one of my favourites. Didn't make my best lather today, but is was still nice enough for a smooth 3 pass shave. Got to near BBS this morning, but had to give a few touch ups along my jawline and right-side neck to get there. I'm starting to suspect I may use the Polar Ice a bit less when fall hits.
    Have a great day, all!
