    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

I have run my Gillette adjustables on 9 ... to prove to myself that I can shave with the dial maxed out. Which I can. But I also noticed that nobody was actually holding a gun to my head and making me do it. So I followed the old Gillette advice (at least I think that's where it's from) to set the razor on the mildest setting that still gave me the type of shave I wanted. Which for me is usually "3". So that's where I usually have my Gillettes and also my Rockwell 6s parked -- and I am sticking to that.

And so far, nobody in the 30DC threads has called me out for being a wuss either. "It's your shave, have it your way." In your case, "5" is right smack bang in the middle of the average range for the majority of shavers, according to the old Gillette literature.

I have to agree with Clint, Doug. Delta Echo did a stunning job on that razor coating. And whether it was intentional or not, the brush and razor appear to match perfectly. The photo, as usual, is crisp and beautifully composed.

Sounds like you had a great day for viewing some excellent golf too.

@clint64, I am glad to hear you are getting some relief and I pray it continues.

@RyX, I am praying for your safety in the coming days.

    Partially off-focus Shave today:

    Schick G
    Omega 10049
    Tabac
    AoS Ocean Kelp AS lotion

I am on a Tabac kick lately. I just love it and I seem to have it dialed in lately with the boar brush. The Schick G was smooth as butter.

Art of Shaving's retail is way above my price point, but since I found a bottle on clearance at Burlington for about $5 I had to give it a try. The scent is just ok but it does not last long so it doesn't hurt anything. It's not bad, just kind of ocean-plant-ish. It does have a good face feel. A little goes a long way and it doesn't leave a greasy feel behind. It left my face soft and well hydrated.

I have one I just set into a Whipped Dog butterscotch, to use for travel. I haven't even tried it yet.

    Inspired. Tomorrow's brush. Thanks.

It could be a fun few days. We are working on getting the refinery ready for lots of water. Still trying to figure out what to do with my family. These things don't work out too well with me working 14-16 hour days and having no power at the house.

One other little thought for my 30DC friends: something close to 25% of the US refining capacity is shown to be potentially impacted by this storm. You might consider filling up your cars early, as gas prices may rise.

Day 13, Timeless Ti with Voskhod, Arko lathered with SOC boar, alum, witch hazel, and Nivea ASB.

After a solid week of DFS+, 3 pass with buffing shaves with this set up, I'm going to pull the hooks on this Focus. I feel that my DE technique has quickly sorted itself out, and the journey is going to be better served by mixing things up a bit. I'm confident I can get awesome, irritation free shaves with this set up, so time to stir the pot a bit. As a diagnostic tool, the focus has served its purpose wonderfully.

Tomorrow, I'm going to mix up the variables a bit. I feel the need to put the 0.95 OC plate through the paces, and I have some fun new soaps I've been using on my melon that I'm pretty excited to try on my face. Also going to revisit synthetic brushes and work the heck out of a Chubby 2 synth I've recently added to the line up. Then there's that new, untried bottle of Krampert's Frostbite AS just sitting there as well...

I solved my "Sandalwood A.S." problem. (See The Stoylin' Echange). At the moment I finish the WSP Sandalwood aftershave(at which time I'll be sure to have plenty of soap still remaining), I'll set the soap aside and wait til 1-1-19 to order more aftershave, but Ill get it from the TSD Shop, which will save me $8. You might think "He has it all planned out, doesn't he? Well..............(see below)

    you're right :).
