That is a GREAT picture of you and your bird. We have a tree in Sunnyvale CA that is loaded with the same kind of Parrot you have, wild of course but very cool to see.
The Eclectus species which ours is comes from the Solomon Islands way out in the South Pacific. This breed is the only parrot breed in which the male looks different than the female - in other words the breed is dimorphic. All other parrot breeds need to be sexed by DNA - males are bright green and females are bright crimson.
