So I did get an edge in this razor with my second try. It passed my ultimate test: a first pass ATG on my lower neck. If I can do it comfortably, and no weepers? It's sharp.

But using the little guy blade is like cutting brush with a weed whip. It took forever. Comfortable, and good results, but this super light razor is definitely not one for the rotation.

Mostly just glad I was able to put a bottom up edge on it. Hope you all have a good new week, and you southern boys can keep your feet dry.

Another irritation-free, three pass DFS with the Timeless. This is quite simply the razor for my face.

When the Sudsy Soapery comes up in rotation, I know I'm going to have a fine shave. I have the Citrus & Bay, the Sandalwood & Myrrh, and the Lavender & Peppermint. I'm warming to all three scents, in spite of not being wild about any of them upon first use. If you haven't tried any of the Sudsy Soapery offerings, I strongly recommend putting some on your short list. My current favorite among a bunch of fantastic artisan soaps.

Also, I'm amazed at how much I'm enjoying the Krampert's Frostbite. The skin care qualities of this stuff are amazing.

    Sunday evening August 27

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 2)
    Omega B + B Essential Boar
My Red Green Duct Tape Special frankensoap
Alum and TSD Aftershave Milk Lavender

I skipped shaving early this morning as usual, so I shaved tonight with an extra 12 hours stubble. Which didn't make any difference at all to this equipment. The boar brush did a good job face lathering my Italian frankensoap, then two passes with the razor had me back to BBS without any irritation. The TSD milk aftershave gives a very good face feel without any greasiness and both scents I have are pleasant and last a reasonable time without being overwhelming.

One thing:. I am looking forward to receiving my Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar brush in the next week or so. The small to medium sized Omega B+B Essential Boar brush is well broken-in, soft and lathers quite well, but it just seems a bit weedy and thin now in comparison to my synthetics and dense badger knots. I want to see what a somewhat bigger and denser boar is like.

That Rocnel Adjustable looks like an amazing piece of workmanship.

How do you like the B&R Adjustable? It's pulling me. Before I actively pursue one I'm farming opinions from owners...

My SOC boar is my current favorite boar. You're gonna love it I'd bet :happy088:.

    Razor: Schick J1 Injector
    Blade: Schick Proline B (2)
    Brush: 30DC/Pure Badger
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Another near-BBS from the J1 and Proline. One small weeper from a total technique failure. I think I'm going to try and finish out the month with this razor and blade; maybe I'll get a sense of the Proline's longevity.

    August 27 Grand Blade Trials

    Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (6)
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Truefitt & Hill 1805
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Little later than some nights thanks to Game of Thrones. I worked a bit late, wife was out doing other things, so we didn't start watching it until an hour late. Love my DVR. And, now that that's done, it's time to shave.

The SharpEdge on 6 is a very fine shave, would be the short version. Lather with the Maggard knot was great and I remembered to use a bit of extra water to make it work. It definitely did. Two passes and touch ups, no blood, the baby is in the house and the alum is slightly warm. Nothing serious. Really just a very fine shave from a high quality blade and setup.

Tomorrow night will be the acid test for irritation and harshness with the Slim wide open. Should be a great shave unless this sharp blade turns harsh.

Short season for GoT and I won't give away any spoilers for those who still have it on their DVR. Have a great start to your week!

    Ok. One more.
