    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I have the SOC brush on my list of things to obtain. I've been seduced by synthetics the past few months and probably need to pry them out of my hand for a few shaves with a good boar again.

Felt like a refreshing experience so I opted for a cool Mystic Water lather. Not all soaps do, but this gives me a great residual slickness. With soft water I've no problem raising a lather. Dropped a fresh Med Prep in the ole Fat Boy and proceeded to eradicate my beard. Three easy passes, buffed my chin and got some G-slides across my neck. Best error free reduction this month since I've been shuffling different little used brands of blades. Alum hardly sparkled. I splashed on some witch hazel based AS but missed the alcohol burn. Finished with a citrusy Pinaud that felt right.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Good to know that about the SOC, thanks.

The B&R Adjustable looks like a stunning piece of equipment and I have been lusting after it ever since I first saw it. Unfortunately I simply haven't been able to find any way to rationalize buying one when I already have so many other razors, including five adjustable DEs -- all three vintage Gillette adjustable models (and I just sent them off to Delta Echo for matching coats), a Rockwell 6s and the Rockwell T (if and when production finally ships). Suggestions?

This morning I have a very good shave to start of the work week. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave with even my lower right neck smooth. I did end up with one weeper due to operator error. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver and I am off to work. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick E2 injector
    Brush: Vulfix badger
    Lather: C.O. Bigelow cream
Post: Alum, witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Not the best results today. Some irritation and redness. It's calmed down a little bit but certainly the least comfortable results in quite a while. Not sure if the blade was old or what happened. The Bigelow cream whipped up really nice and slick lather. The E2 is always efficient but today fought back some. Oh well. It certainly happens. I won't let it get me down!

    Have a great day!

Used the Thater for the 4th time today. Got it at a steep discount as the owner had not used it much and it was shedding hairs. The first 3 shaves, it dropped several hairs each time. Today, nothing. Hopefully this trend continues and the initial shed is over, as this is one luxurious knot. Catie's Bubbles Waterlyptus followed by Stirling Lime AS made for a great morning shave.

My normal Monday morning routine was interrupted due to Harvey, so I took advantage of it and used this wonderful soap again. Once again the post shave feel was top notch. I tried several soaps a while back for posting shave feel with Nuavia soaps coming out on top. Stirling, Route 66, and Stubble Trubble were a notch below, at least in my opinion. After two shaves, I would say this soap is right up there with Nuavia in this regard. It definitely leaves my face feeling nice and soft. I was a little rushed on the shave, so I finished with a DFS.

It will be an interesting day at work, as from a power stand point we are in good shape. Due to the flooding, a lot of people won't be in and several businesses will be closed. It is going to be one of those days where I have to be there but not much to do. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

I had a bit of a concern while loading with the WSP Pure Badger this morning. I tried to "load it(the soap)like it owes me money"(as some have advised me to do)but halfway through, a small section of the brush split apart from the rest. I found I could reposition it to normality, but I wondered what caused the split. Anyway, the overall shave was a nice success.

I have a Slim and a Fat Boy on the way from Delta Echo, ordered July 5th, should be here around the 5th of September according to Jay. I'll blast pics when they arrive :happy088:.

That sounds about right for a high quality very dense badger knot -- shed some excess hairs in the first half dozen uses or so and then nothing after that. The first owner was probably too impatient. His loss, your gain. That's a great looking brush.

That Gem Damaskeene is stunning since the replating . Sport Shaving did it, right?

The Slim is Black Chrome and Copper, the Fat Boy is Bronze and Brass. Ordered from the "Made to Order" section, but I would guess the turn around time wouldn't be but a couple of weeks longer than that to do your own razors, 11-12 weeks.

Thank you Jim and with this one it can serve double duty for Open Comb October ;)

Thank you. Yes Sport Shaving did the replate and it was his first Gem style razor. I am pleased with the way it turned out.
