If so will it do what it’s supposed to do? I have very sensitive skin and also a beginner and looking for something that gives me less nicks and irritation. Help me to decide if you will thanks
Hi Sam, cant help you with the AS-D2 other then what I've read about it. What razor are you currently using ? Most the the time the issues associated with nicks and irritation are largely due to technique and not necessarily equipment.
Big Sam You said in a previous post you just started shaving, the razor you asked about costs almost 200.00 dollars, you should start with a less expensive razor, you might not like wet shaving. A mild razor is a Edwin Jagger. Sent from my QTAQZ3 using Tapatalk
Agree on all counts. It's technique, not necessarily the tools. "A new driver won't make you a better golfer."
I have one but it does not get used all that much. It's nice but I find a nice ball end Tech shaves as well and is lighter and more maneuverable. The Tech will like cost about a tenth of what the Feather costs.
Have it, love it, use it fairly often. Never let's me down. HOWEVER, even an AS-D2 can bite you if you aren't secure with your technique. Keep that in mind.
I found it to be very gentle and effective. I also have a sensitive face - mainly on my neck. Probably the smoothest and most gentle razor I have ever used.
I love mine. I had trouble with angle and pressure early on in my wet shaving education and the AS-D2 saved me. I use it all of the time. It is a highly tuned and well engineered product IMHO. I rotate it in about once or twice a month for about a week at a time. Too me it is engineered to cut at a very particular angle. If you aren't holding that angle, then you are either riding the cap or riding the bar. There isn't much leeway and the blade gap doesn't expose the blade in a way that promotes an aggressive angle. At least, to me.
Sure it will. My friends all think my new driver makes me a better golfer because they always win the skins holes.
I've used my AS-D2 for a little over a year and I agree with what others have noted. It's a great razor with a nice smooth glide. I like the high grade stainless steel they use -- feels like a professional instrument. It ain't cheap but I am glad I picked one up.
and the Gillette Ball End Tech head is the same as the Feather AS-D2, so get yourself a Gillette Ball End Tech rather than paying a huge high-end stainless steel Feather AS-D2 razor. And @jar
Well, I have several Techs, and yes, I believe that the Feather is modeled on the Tech. But, I think the Feather is much more of an artisan razor and is engineered as such. It is not stamped and all of the components are the same material; stainless steel. Techs are definitely cheaper, but they are generally brass or aluminum with a few having a zinc or aluminum cap (not that there is anything wrong with that). I prefer the weight and length of the AS-D2. People say the Tech is more maneuverable, but I don't notice that. I find that I use less pressure with the Feather; probably because of the weight. But, you can get a good shave with either. The Feather isn't cheap, but I still think it is a good value for what you get. You can spend a lot more on a razor than the Feather AS-D2. If you really love it, then it may be the only razor that you will own for the rest of your life. Though, you can say the same thing about a 70 or 80 year old Tech. It's your shave and your budget. Get what you want; use it if you want. The AS-D2 is very, very nice mild razor.
I like the AS-D2 Feather razor and use it the most. I have thin old sun damaged skin and the razor is easy to use and gives a very dependable shave. I have about all the razors of the past and nearly all of the present. The razor that I use the most is the Feather AS-D2. For me it works with any blade but I prefer Gillette Yellow or Feather blades. The razor is very easy to use and it is difficult to nick and cut yourself up with just a small amount of skill and care. I got mine using Amazon points. I liked it so much I bought a second one used as a spare.
