While I haven't used Lucky Tiger, it may be safe for me to presume it's similar(but not a clone)to my L&L Grooming Marshlands, in that it focuses more on facial feel than fragrance

Yes, it will have a spot. Just not sure where. I am about to put them DE up for SEptember, so it will have to wait a bit. Of course, depending on how long I am stuck at work, I will have to put all of my razors on hold for a bit.

Another package rolled in today, this one from Cold River Soap Works. I am surprised how quickly it got here. It contains my tub of Jeff’s Soap plus tubs of Juniper and Savon No. 1 that I bought to share the shipping cost. Looks like I have my soaps picked out for the last three shaves of this month.

Most of my razors are square point. I'm actually liking this round point a lot. I haven't scratched myself yet with it

"Bloody gaping wound" takes too long to type so I just use scratch

I certainly thought marshlands had a focused scent: marsh. They nailed it.

I am an equal opportunity scratcher. I do not descriminate against any type of razor, and let them all slice me.

I have thought about trying one of these Cachurros for a long time because I really like the look of the handle, but I have had bad luck with the taller lofted brown horses, and have always held off.

Then I saw this one in black, and it was $8.

So the initial shave after a couple of de-funk lathers went fine. It is one a guy will have to be very careful with in order not to tangle. The horses seem to need a little break in time, but this one really wasn't too bad right out of the chute. Horses are a crap chute for me, and it seems like about half of them find new homes. Kind of hope this knee makes it, cause I kind of like it.

I really like the Piacenza. It is bright and clean, and smells a little of soap. It is a soap I use a lot when I have a really dirty day at work and just need to feel clean.

    Have a great evening.

The brush looks very cool and unique. I can see why you picked it up. However the PRC is simply stunning.

Yeah, my wife commented that Piacenza smelled soapy. Not a bad thing. I enjoy it as well.

Mostly a light citrus scent to me. I prefer an alcohol based AS so mine gets little face time.

Tuesday evening August 29 - more new toys!

    Gillette Fatboy E1 on #3 / Topaz Platinum (2)
Semogue Owners Club cherry wood boar brush
    CRSW Jeff’s Soap
    Alum and Lucky Tiger

My main user Fatboy is at Delta Echo. This one is my one remaining "backup" Fatboy as I have sold or swapped the rest. (At least I think it's the only one I have left...) I kept it because it was defective -- there was a "catch" in the turning mechanism just before it popped fully open or closed and reached the locking quarter turn. Last night, I examined it carefully and noticed one safety bar was bent a tiny bit out of true on one side. A very ginger application of force with a set of needlenose pliers and the razor now works smoothly once again. I roadtested it tonight and it passed with flying colours.

I expect I will PIF this one when my other Gillettes get back from the bodyshop. Perhaps bundle it with my Omega B+B Essential Boar brush and a stick of Arko as a total beginner package for either the next TSD Raffle or one of the monthly Newbie Draws...

Anyway, that was tonight's new razor. To it I added a second shave with my new SOC boar brush and Lucky Tiger Aftershave Tonic, and then broke out today's soap arrival -- CRSW Jeff’s Soap.

Unfortunately a new brush in a new soap was one "new" too many. For my first attempt I bowl lathered. I ended up with a bowlful of unusable runny soup. I reloaded the brush, added a bit of water, and face lathered. The result was thin lather that nevertheless worked -- with just barely enough in the brush for two passes.

I am going to have to work with this boar brush for awhile. I think I need to shake out more water and then load product for longer, but I am not totally sure. I do know that after the shave was over, I did another test lather of the Jeff’s Soap with my 30DC LE Maple Cashmere synthetic ... and on my first try had a perfect lather that spread on my face in a perfect layer for shaving... So it wasn't the soap's fault.
