Honestly no clue yet. Have been looking. I really think I maybe want to have someone turn me one in a taller pro handle.

    I am open to suggestions.

When I have a nagging concern or bad feeling about something it usually turns out I was right. You were right to think everything through.

This little lineup has really impressed me this week. Everything just continues to work well together. The shaves have been near perfect with the exception of the occasional weeper. I really couldn't ask for better. Since I enjoyed the Floid Blue so much yesterday, I decided to use it again this morning. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

30DC LE figured maple handle with 24 mm APShaveCo Tuxedo knot
    CF Lavender shave cream
Thayers Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine Platinum aftershave

I've been focusin' with you all even though I haven't posted much this month. I used my Mongoose the first half of the month with Feather Professional blades and the last half with the Super Professional blades. I swap blades after seven shaves, although I'm sure they could last longer.

Most of my shaves have been two passes plus touch-ups. I performed one three-pass shave and, as I recall, one one-pass shave. The quality of my shaves were better with the Super Pro blades. I can feel more blade exposure against my face, and the blade itself feels stiffer. I think @clint64 refers to these shaves as "scary close." If I'm very careful with pressure and skin stretching, I can obtain a great shave using this setup without any weepers. I even tried blade buffing on my neck during the second pass, and that seemed to work very well. I'm also experimenting carefully with ATG strokes on the bulb of my chin and my upper lip.

I love the weight and feel of the Mongoose, and the LE brush has changed my mind about synthetic knots. It is simply fantastic.

I used up a tube of Palmolive shave cream this month - more cookies, brownie points, and unicorns, please - and then switched over to the CF Lavender. I'm a big fan of both creams, even though they span the price spectrum. It just goes to show that anyone can get a fantastic shave with some very reasonably priced products.

I hope you all have had a fantastic month! My prayers are with those that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey.

    August 2017 Recap

My primary goal for the month was improving the shave results on my lower right neck. I am happy to say that now I can consistently get near perfect results in that area without any issues. While skin stretching helped a lot, I realized that with milder razors I need one more pass in the area to get the desired results. I did manage to finish off a tub of Mystic Water Lavender Lime but added a tub of CRSW Jeff's soap so no net change in the soap inventory. Most importantly I have enjoyed the following the postings of the thread. The sense of friendship represented in this thread is something I look forward to each day. I am looking forward to more of the same next month.

    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick I1 injector
    Brush: Surrey badger
    Lather: Fine American Blend
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Another easy shave this morning. The Fine soaps lather nicely and with little effort. Good glide and protection and the scents are great. No complaints!

I did not have much of a focus this month. Rotated through my razors and did use the Schick Adjustable a little more than normal. I still enjoyed the fun and camaraderie of the thread regardless of my lack of input as far as a focus. Next month will be Stirling SEptember. Looking forward to that.

    Have a great day!

Work has been even worse than I thought, but I have had two good shaves with my new custom. It an Osiris Blades 8/8 half hollow Irish tip. Extra long tail with Abalone scales. The tail makes it as nimble as a smaller razor, and the weight makes it easy to use.

One more shave with the SA to end Adjustable August. Went with the 'Gomez' this morning. It just may be my favourite scent in a soap. Top 3 or 4 for sure, and just a wonderful lather as well. Dialed the SA up to '9' for the first pass and then back to 7 for the next 2. A super shave this morning, finished off with the excellent Gratiot League Sq.

I have used my SA for Adjustable August all month, while using a Bakelite Clix and a Lux periodically as well. I also used a pre war fat-handled tech for a week while travelling. I got good shaves with the Black Beauty all month, and will come back to the two non-Gillette razors at some point. The week travelling with the Tech was fantastic- what a great razor.
    Have a great day all!

31 August 2017 Sure Happy It's Thursday Adjustable August Blade Focus Shave

Pre: All the jazz I usually do
    Razor: 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable
    Blade: Timor from Germany
    Brush: 1955 Rubberset 303
    Soap: Jeff's Soap by CRSW
Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
After Shave: Speick for Men Erfrischende Pflege

Last day of August is upon us. For the last day of Adjustable August, I opted for Jeff's Soap. I have to admit that I originally bought it to help the cause. However after using it for a few shaves, I have to say the Jasmine scent has grown on me. Not to mention that it's slick and the post shave face feel is great.
Likewise I took a flyer on the Timor blades. They also were a pleasant surprise. They've dealt some outstanding shaves. This morning was no exception. With the Slim set on "7" for the 2.5 passes, I accomplished a BBS shave with zero chatter from the alum block.
To finish, I splashed on some Speick for Men and my day was off and running.
Starting Sunday I'll be rockin' and rollin' SEptember!
