A few days ago I rearranged my brush rotation. It's like getting a whole bunch of new brushes.

PAA Sundown is a modern take in the Vintage Sun Up from Gillette. Good stuff.

What's the razor? It is certainly eyecatching. Nice photo, btw, including an unusual angle for the brush that really makes the boar knot stand out.

    September 2

    Razor - Fatip Piccolo
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Soap Commander Courage
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    ASOD - Clubman

Second day of September and of the Labor Day Sale. Another busy day which is exactly what I wanted. The AV Musk was a nice refreshing starter to the day and definitely had me in a good mood.

Tonight, day two of the Fatip and Sharp Star "easy shaves" to get me through the weekend. The JR46 and Soap Commander didn't skimp on the lather and two passes after beginning the baby is very close. I could feel a bit of irritation that the alum proved out so I stopped there and will call it good for Sunday. A bit of an earlier start than normal tomorrow and a later finish. Hopefully another busy day of selling America's finest sleep! I'll be going in tomorrow after splashing on some Clubman to get the juices flowing.

Hope your holiday weekend is treating you well!

How cool is that? It would be really neat to see a store that sells stuff like that.

And that brush display is the coolest thing ever. If I had that I would put it in my living room.

Speaking of Ogallala? Anyone know a decent vendor for it? I want to buy (re-try) some of the soap, but on Amazon you have to buy two pucks at a time, and pay 6 bucks shipping. I don't want it that badly.

The razor is from Osiris Blades, made by Alfonzo Torres. It is an 8/8 Irish tip with a monkey tail with a half hollow grind. He shaped the spine like an old Sheffield razor. The scales are stableized shell, maybe Abalone but I'm not sure. It is an amazing shaver.

Below are both of my Osiris Blades razors. He is getting an etching machine and will mark his razors. The purple one is a 6/8 Spanish tip half or three quarter hollow grind.

Sunday September 3rd early morning (or very very late Saturday night) - Supply Provision all the way

Supply Provision Single Edge injector on one - dot plate / Personna ( 3)
Supply Provision 26mm silvertip fibre synthetic brush
    Supply Provision Arenella Coast cream
Alum and Supply Provision Arenella Coast balm

I skipped shaving yesterday so had a bit of a stubble going today. Not any longer. My usual two passes - diagonally WTG on face and ATG on neck, then XTG everywhere - brought me to my usual irritation-free DFS. I could get it to BBS with another pass or with some buffing but at the cost of some slight razorburn, so I rarely do.

I used the Arenella Coast cream, which is more like a croap, by smearing an almond-sized dollop in the bottom of a suribachi bowl so the ridges would hold it in place while my brush worked it into a lather. The suribachi worked well, although it is smaller diameter and shallower than the bowl I used to use. The cream I scooped out was enough for two passes with some left over. I would judge that the 4 oz. Jar holds enough cream for somewhere between four and six months of shaves.

I splashed on some of the matching balm and left the bathroom feeling clean, refreshed, and smelling good.

What a neat place!! We don't have anything even close to a store like that. I'm jealous.
