  1. Not yet. It's still sitting in the "Fix someday " pile
  2. Oh well, that's better than the "I've given up on this hopeless junk" pile... :)
  3. So what are your summer scents?
  4. Smoked HARD for four to five hours, then steamed in apple juice until the shoulder blade JUUUuust slides out.

Us northern boys can cook a little too.

  5. Congrats on your 1000th post!! Keep on keepin' on!! :)
  6. Unfortunately for that soap & AS, not only am I unsure about it, it gets a big ol' thumbs down from my wife. And, I'd kinda like to stay married....
  7. Indeed it is.
  8. Spending August with the Micromatic was enough for me. I enjoy using them, but don't want to feel obligated to another 30 days with the razor right now.

When combined with Gorgo's I have too many blades thread (about 1500 DE blades on hand), had me back at the DE tonight for a very nice shave.

Gillette New Improved Weber Bulldog Handle
    Rapira Swedish Supersteel (1)
    Semogue 2000
    Iced Orange Arko SS

Signing off... Enjoy your month everyone.
  9. Thank you, I will. I trust I will also be running into you frequently here...
  10. Thank you, Clint!
  11. Wait! Don't go! Stick around and keep us updated on your DE use. Maybe slip the occasional drugstore soap or aftershave in to go with the drugstore part of the month... (Personally, at the price per stick and based on the fact it's probably the most common drugstore soap in Turkey, I think Arko counts...)
  12. So far as soaps-Fields&Streams(Local Gent Co.), and Glacial Wintergreen(Stirling), although I look forward to some more "scenty"ones from Stirling in the future. I don't use shave soaps much in the summertime.
  13. Yeah...I think I'll stick around! Unless, of course, ya'll boot me!

This is a great group of people. I mentioned somewhere in one of my posts that the 30DC is the nicest group of folks assembled on the internet.
  14. :signs011: For the most part, I'll be sticking with DE as well. I'll throw in an injector occasionally.
  15. When you have more time, Jim, I'd like to hear about that soap. I don't believe I've ever seen it before.
  16. It was mostly for not having a current focus. It will just be shaving as normal, slutting it up with whatever catches my fancy for a little while.

I am pretty simple on Drug Store stuff. Arko and Superior 70 get a lot of use here. Both work well, are simple and inexpensive.

I will try and post a couple shaves
  17. The great thing about this place is you don't have to follow the theme. Focus on not focusing on SE blades for a month. Boom. Focus engaged.

  18. We don't boot anyone around here. We need as many accomplices as we can get so the feds never figure out exactly who was/is responsible for the shenanigans!

Before I get into the shave - Just a couple more days before the Solar Eclipse Raffle drawing. This is another TSD raffle to support this great forum! Lots of great stuff to win again including some very fine Russian blades! Support your forum and feed your AD's at the same time.

    CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

    Razor - Not tonight
Blade - No sharp objects tonight
Soap - African Black Organic for face only
    Brush - Nope
ASOD - I'll let you know later

To say that I'm done for the day is an understatement. I will never complain about business but wow. Huge day today and my feet hurt, I have a headache from the constant traffic and trying to manage multiple customers while also managing my assistant for the day and his lesser skills in multi-tasking customers. At the end of the day - record sales for Labor Day in my store, my entire weekend sales budget blown away, and a burger and fries for dinner to avoid having to wait any longer. Just got home, in fact.

Soooooooo....forget shaving tonight. I'm off tomorrow. I'll take care of it sometime between sunrise and bedtime. Hope you all had a fantastic Labor Day. To those near the fire zones - stay safe! To those in South Texas - hope you're doing better and making progress. For those in Florida - DUCK!
