First time using the Merkur blade, so far I like it! A tiny bit of razor burn, but tht could be because I didn't shave all weekend! :D

JayKay 3000 posts and all I got was this lousy title

Usually you'll get less razor burn from letting your face go for a weekend. Merkur blades are just rough.

Monday: musgo real lime preshave soap / generic pure badger brush / ginger's garden lavender soap / parker 89r razor / 7 o'clock super stainless blade d3 / twh / florida water cologne.

ginger's garden soap is nice, fragrance lasts throughout the shave. d3 on blade and it need changed but still did a nice job. good way to start the week

    Monday 11/3 . . .

Okay, you guys are tired of my changing the color of the text each day. So to please you and to get with what I believe to be the original intent of this forum I am posting nothing more than a pix of the shave gear and below that the results.

Result: It was a horrendous shave to be blunt. The '12 Valet Auto Strop left me down or maybe I should blame it on D.Irving79 because he is the one who provided the Valet to me for what I consider a major blood letting. Almost seemed that Moses was in the bathroom and I was the Pharoah. Moses turned the water in my sink red. I guess that the technique that need to be used with the Valet is more like that of a DE rather than a SE. Go figure. When I did change the technique the blood letting stopped. Well no more nicks or cuts but the bleeding continued through passes 2 & 3. Gonna put the Valet away for a few weeks until I can find a Saturday that I can use to try again.
