the gillette "new" and 7 o'clock combination is outstanding. two passes with very little touch up = bbs.

1912 Gem, the story:
I bought this at a local shop. It intrigued me because it had not wedge cap on the top, the previous owner removed it i guess. I was nervous about using it without the guard. It shaved as good or better than a Rolls. I may do this with my 1940 to see if it shaves better.

  [*]Result: Nice BBS shave today. But the blade finally seemed to be giving out. On shave 8 it began to tug and pull a bit and I had to really work at the buffing to get the BBS. No blood today again. See, I can do it if I take my time and don't use too much pressure. The Double Ring is a great razor. Why did Gillette ever go away from it? To make money of course!
