I took yesterday off from shaving, so I had a solid couple of days worth of stubble to mow down. Razor: Kampfe Bros Star Lather Catcher Blade: GEM Brush: 30DC Soap: Stirling Barbershop Aftercare: Barbasol Brisk Scent: Thallium Of all my SE razors, this one is the most fun and comfortable to use. It is so much smoother than my GEMS, and it is quite efficient. It honors a very light touch. I could have walked away with one pass, but did the 2nd just for fun and mostly neck touch up. If I could only have one SE razor, this would be it. Stirling Barbershop did its thing and did it well. I enjoy the slightly sweet talc scent. I have the 30DC brush dialed in enough now that I am no longer thinking of swapping the Tuxedo knot out. Now that it has broken in, I am really enjoying it. I have been wanting to try some PAA soaps, and I am fortuitously coming into possession of a few via trade and a PIF. This may derail the Stirling portion of my focus, but I will be maintaining the SE and drugstore aftershave portions. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
SEptember Focus NOTSO TSS/Gingers Garden Acqua di Florida B-400 by Tom, Omega Pro98 boar knot The Bunny/ NOTSO comb, Chick blade M&L Florida Water Eau de Cologne Brace up Florida residents, Irma is imminent. Never too soon to prepare those bug out bags, fill the gas tanks, and gather photo albums. Today I used my latest knot with one of my oldest soaps. Formulated by Ginger's Garden @soapbuddy for The Shaving Shop. Perfect scent match in a great tallow product. I loaded heavly and mostly face lathered to enjoy the bristle breaking in feeling of a scritchy boar knot. Swapped out the MILD comb for the midgrade adjustment. After a couple uses I'm passed relearning and into enjoying Tom's hardware. Same blade from the first of the month because Chicks are that good. No major errors, a small nick on my Addams's apple that self sealed. DFS+ everywhere & especially smooth on cheeks and chin. Skipped the alum swipe and enjoyed the high alcohol burn from the inspiration for the soap scent. Good Shaves Y'all!
Thanks - I hope so too. Just returned from work, car has been fixed, so tomorrow I should find the time to use the straight razor
It is an 830 boar with the stripe dyed into it. It has so many shaves on it, it as as soft as a badger tho.
My focus this month is to get solid with my "new" '53 super speed. I feel like I need a slightly different approach than I do with my Merkur 23. I also have a sampler of Stirling AS on the way. I'll report back on that.
Me too. I was thrilled when it made a return from hiatus, and in Sheep fat to boot. Just throwing a warning out there: it is a strongly scented soap.
