Williams Wednesday's SE Shave Proraso Pre Shave Williams Mug Shaving Soap B 400 by Tom Ever-Ready 1914 CVS SE CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Barbasol AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the B 400 badger brush by Tom. I did the two passes with the Ever-Ready 1914 and CVS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... The ER14 used to be a very aggressive razor for me, but I have learned to tame it. Riding the cap with a light touch does the trick.
These are the razors I will be using this month. Autostrop Valet VC2 with a Feather FHS-10 blade, a GEM Brookland 1912 and a Superior 1900 Lather Catcher. The latte two I will be using a Treet CS blade. Yes, the blade in the Valet is not straight in the photo. I noticed after I took the photo, but it's right now.
6 SEptember Williams Wednesday Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 25mm(my caliper) Maseto Shaving(MS) Synthetic Soap: Pure Williams*(almost) Razor: GEM Brookland Blade: Treet (5) Post-Shave: Stetson AS Photo: Well today is Williams Wednesday and to fall in line and be a conformist I used pure Williams. Well, almost. I added a little bit of Stetson AS to the cake to give it a little more of a scent. The Williams and synthetic brush whipped quite a lather. A great start to what ended up being a stellar shave. Living the Dream & Enjoying the Shave
Thank you, Doug. The mug belonged to my wife's grandfather. He was born in 1893 and ran errands for the Wright brothers in Dayton, OH. He was a small part of the birth of aviation.

SOTD September 6, 2017 A Stirling SEptember Blade: GEM stainless Razor: GEM 1912 Brush: Jayaruh #60 synthetic Lather: Stirling Pharoah's Dreamsicle Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Pharoah's Dreamsicle aftershave WTG, touch-up GEM 1912 today. Went smoothly but ended up with a couple of weepers and some redness. Oh well - there's always tomorrow. This was a new GEM blade and it felt really smooth. I guess I need to watch pressure and angle as always. Question - using this razor leaves a metallic smell on my hand. I shave right handed. Any way to get rid of that or somehow clean or treat the handle (really the full razor) to get rid of that? Have a great day!

SOTD Stirling SEptember Ever-Ready 1912 Gem Stainless(? maybe 4th shave) Ever-Ready C40 Stirling "The Lounge"
I looked for "The Lounge" yesterday. They told me they didn't know what I was talking about. Okay maybe I was exaggerating a little. The search came back with zero results on the Stirling web site.
