@PickledNorthern & @Bama Samurai just to keep you guys in the loop and to avoid questions later. I took my Electric Sheep to work with me as I was wanting to show it to a couple of co-workers. I took the Electric Sheep to the Electric Company. HaHA, get it. Anyways, one of the guys I showed it to when he smelled it he said it reminded him of his dad. That his dad used to use a shaving soap that smelled just like it. You could see by the look in his eyes that it was a strong memory of his father, a kind of a longing or a hundred yard stare. Needless to say I no longer have any Sheep.
Brian, I hope you realize how jealous I am in seeing that Cuir Et Epices! I'm sure it'll be my next from L:&L Grooming.
So Jared, how does the Maggard B&W compare to the genuine Tuxedo ? The one I got has a glue bump so large that the brush is all backbone. I can't get it splay when face lathering and lathering in a deeper scuttle is difficult. I either have to bowl lather in a shallow wide bowl or palm lather.
Beautiful razor, Rick! Tonight I will be shaving with the vintage that I can only assume was the inspiration for the Bunny, the Schick Type F.
7 SEptember 2017 Sure Happy It's Thursday Blade Focus Shave Pre: Hot water, soap from the container and a hot towel Razor: GEM MMOC Blade: PAL Brush: JR#161 Soap: Jeff's Soap by CRSW Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer After Shave: Speick for Men Another great shave with Jeff's Soap. I bought it for the cause and stayed for the shaves. I've said before that Jasmine ain't my thing, but the slickness and cushion makes the whole deal worth it. The PAL blade is starting to fall off. There was some dragging on my neck on the half pass. It's all good though, as tomorrow is the last shave of the week. I'm really loving the MicroMatic. Blue Stars are going to be up next week. Then I might try out the drugstore GEM blades. Or I just might cut to the chase and order a hundred PAL's or Blue Stars. I'll be a winner either way. Have an outstanding Thursday my fellow Denizens! HANG TOUGH JEFF!!
SEptember 7th Schick G4 w Chick (3) Stirling Baker Street SS 30DC LE Thayers P&G Old Spice The week is rolling along with the '66' and another nice, efficient 3 pass shave. Picked the Baker Street sample as my Stirling product of the day. I've found that I do need to spend more time on my neck so far with the injector, where I was getting good results with skin stretching upwards and opening my jaw while doing the jawline with DEs. Have added the modern Old Spice for the Drug Store Cheap Stink mini focus. I'm actually excited to compare the P&G scent to the others I have 'based' on the Shulton scent- Barrister's Reserve in an AS, Stirling Spice in a balm and Soap Commander Endurance in a soap. First day using it, and first thoughts are that while the scent is obviously 'within range', it is not as strong- perhaps Endurance is closest out of what I have on scent alone. The quality of the product on the face isn't at the same level of Reserve. Nor should it be for the price. I can't give an opinion on longevity yet as it has only been about 40 minutes. Have a great day all!
It upsets me to see "Est. 1938" on the New(I mean OLD)Spice. P&G didn't establish it then, did they????
Jeff's Soap is some pretty good stuff. Funny how everybody picks up scents differently. I get a little of the floral but the melon is stronger to me.
Maybe it's how they pour the puck? Don't know, but the scent has grown on me. Sorta like the fougere in the "Florentine Fern" by Catie's Bubbles.
Great looking razor Jason. I love the injectors with the different colored handles. I add 2 drops of glycerin per oz to my aftershaves that do not have other additives. I have found that it helps a lot with skin care properties of the aftershave.
Could be or it might be me. My wife and daughters didn't get the melon but I did. Either way I am enjoying the soap a lot.
