9/9/17 GEM CLOG PRUF - new PAL blade - just amazing - a tad smoother than the open comb. Not sure what makes it clog pruf???? But - a nice variation of the OPMM - if I was too choose one I would take the open comb

Sunday's SE Shave Proraso Pre Shave Palmolive Classic Shaving Cream B 400 by Tom Gem 1911 Lather Catcher Original Gem Cutlery SE CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Barbasol AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Palmolive Classic Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the B 400 badger brush. I did the two passes with the Gem 1911 Lather Catcher and vintage Gem Jr. blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Winds raging high outside Things looking mean Time to look sharp Time to look clean Irma Shave... Three days of stubble taken care of with no drama from this beautiful brass 1924. I moved to higher ground but, ahem, brought my razors when I evacuated. Tomorrow is another day but today is starting with a super smooth and close shave courtesy of the mighty 1924. Happy shaving - Karl
Todays post is from yesterday and today both. Every time I sat down yesterday to post my SOTD the Wife would say "What about....?" or "I thought we were.....?". The only thing I could say was "Yes Dear." This is then my SOTD for the 9th & 10th of September. First: SOTD for 9 SEptember Shave #7 on the Treet Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 28mm Faux Finest Badger, Frank Shaving(FS) Soap: Pipe Smoke, Uncle Jon's Lather Bowl: Sundae Dish, The Pioneer Woman, Walmart Razors: Superior 1900 LC GEM Brooklyn 1912 Blade: Treet (7) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Stetson AS Photo: I got a large amount of decent lather out of the new Pipe Smoke soap. I switched back to the Superior 1900 as I didn't have very much whisker growth and was concerned with the aggression level of the GEM. I believe the GEM to be more aggressive then the 1900 LC. After the first pass I found that the aggression level of a razor is relative to the technique used with that razor. I had the wrong angle with the LC is putting nicely. So I pulled the blade out of the LC and put it back in the Brooklyn 1912. Did two more passes with it. Finished of the shave with a cold water rinse than some Stetson AS. Trying to win favor with the Wife(didn't work). This did leave me with another smooth shave. Just to think I got this razor back at the beginning of June. I used it once or twice and put it up. It had teeth and we didn't see eye to eye. Now I am getting shaves that would make a dolphin jealous. Second: SOTD for 10 SEptember Shave #8 on the Treet Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 25mm Maseto Shaving(MS) Synthetic Soap: Pipe Smoke, Uncle Jon's Lather Bowl: Sundae Dish, The Pioneer Woman, Walmart Razor: GEM Brooklyn 1912 Blade: Treet (8) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Rose Petal, Thayers Witch Hazel Photo: Today's shave I wanted to use a different brush with the Uncle Jon's. Yesterdays lather I thought, didn't have very much slickness to it, but I chocked that up to the brush being on the dry side. I started this shave by soaking the brush in the lather bowl verses the smaller cup I normally soak it in. This means I had left over water in the lather dish. Today's lather was a bit wetter and a little slicker. I did a three pass shave that left me smooth and a little bit of irritation under my Adams apple but a DFS all in all. I would chock this one up as a win. I guess that makes me "WINNING".
