Saturday night September 9 - Rockwell Razors rule! The picture shows my recent loot from Rockwell Razors. My Rockwell 6s is wearing its new leather head guard and standing in its new "inkwell" stand. The stand is Gunmetal so not a perfect match to the brushed stainless razor but should match my T1, assuming it ever hits final production. Then there is a plastic tub of cream and a puck of hard soap in a metal tin with a slip lid. The brush is from Supply Provision rather than Rockwell Razors but very similar to the one Rockwell now sells on its site. (Both razor companies may well get their brushes made by the same manufacturer - someone like Frank's Shaving.). And I continued to use a Topaz Platinum instead of digging out a Rockwell blade, because I am trying to use up my 100-pack of Topaz Platinums. Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 1 ) Supply Provision 26mm silvertip fibre synthetic brush Rockwell Razors Barbershop cream Alum and Rockwell Razors Barbershop cream lather I took a day off my SE focus and did a "nearly all Rockwell" day today. An excellent shave saw two passes reduce my two-day stubble to a near BBS. The Rockwell cream has a pleasant leather-based scent and is an high-quality shaving cream made from good ingredients. It also has a good postshave feel. I didn't use any postshave products after my alum rub and rinse and so far I haven't missed them.
Great picture and lineup Jason. I am glad you enjoyed the added Glycerin. I add it to all my aftershaves that don't have skin care additives.
SEptember 10, 2017 Brass General Schick Proline (1) CH 2 LE Jade Synthetic Route 66 Bay Lime Twist Folsom & Co Capri A fantastic shave this morning kicking off the new week. The CH2 Synthetic whipped up the R66 Bay Lime Twist into a rich slick lather with little effort. I decided to try the General with a Schick Proline blade. Three passes and minimal touch ups left me with a near perfect shave. Skin Stretching and paying attention helped me avoid the extra pass on my lower right neck. A splash of F&C Capri kept the citrus theme going and left me feeling refreshed. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
A very nice shave this morning. Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap Wolf Whiskers Brush Art Razor Pegasus Razor Lucky Tiger Ogallala Bay Rum After Shave Have a blessed Sunday!
Our town itself doesn't appear threatened at this point. The one fire about 12 miles away is up to 1800 hectares, but not coming closer to town. 400 properties are still evacuated with no time line to return. Air quality is a big issue. It has been extremely poor for weeks. I don't think this is over, Randy. We haven't had significant rainfall in our area in over 2 months. We are kind of just waiting for the next ones, unfortunately. How are you doing there?
10 SEptember 2017 Blade Focus Shave As you can see by the above picture, all the usual suspects are on deck for the first shave of the week. The MMOC/Blue Star combo had no trouble dealing with my two day growth. A traditional 3 pass shave yielded a BBS face. JJ#1 by @jimjo1031 whipped the Catie's Bubbles "Florentine Fern" into a great lather that was slick, had a great cushion and left my face feeling nice and soft. The Speick for Men After Shave is a very good compliment to the "Florentine Fern". Took the puppy to the groomer at Petsmart. I'll post a picture with his new haircut later. Have a great Sunday. And you Denizens down Florida way, take good care.
About Tuesday we're headed to Apalachicola as long as they still have power there. I'm sure Tampa will be down for weeks. I'm between moves so I currently have two homes at my disposal, and I'm guessing the panhandle may not be as affected as Tampa. Should be feeling the brunt of the thing in a few hours now, so hoping for the best. So far, it's just breezy lol.
Well at least you've got a reprieve for now, Jason. Hang in there. As for here, we're going to escape the worst of the storm. Some high winds, rain and power outages, but kinda like you not outta the woods yet, but feeling a whole lot better about our immediate situation at the moment.
Hang in there, brother. Thank God wind speeds are down a lot from a couple of days ago. Having lived through three storms where we were out of power for 2+ weeks, your Apalachicola plan is a good one. Stay safe!
I'm sticking with my '53 super speed this month. VERY light or no pressure seems to be the name of the game when going ATG with this razor. I also got my Stirling aftershave sample pack of sandpiper, executive man, mountain man, and sharp dressed man. That sharp dressed man smells sooo good. I got some crazy feedback with it this morning. Technique still needs work.

September 10, 2017 Razor: Schick '500' Injector Blade: Schick Proline B Brush: 30DC/Pure Badger Soap: Williams + KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Back to a recent acquisition which is turning out to be one of my favorite Injectors. I'm not really a fan of long-handled razors (the '500' has a longer handle than a regular J1) but something about the added weight from the Hydro-Magic makes it just right. Meanwhile the Citronella scent of the Williams super lather made for a refreshing afternoon shave. Not quite a BBS like yesterday's Fatboy shave, but close enough.
Todays post is from yesterday and today both. Every time I sat down yesterday to post my SOTD the Wife would say "What about....?" or "I thought we were.....?". The only thing I could say was "Yes Dear." This is then my SOTD for the 9th & 10th of September. First: SOTD for 9 SEptember Shave #7 on the Treet Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 28mm Faux Finest Badger, Frank Shaving(FS) Soap: Pipe Smoke, Uncle Jon's Lather Bowl: Sundae Dish, The Pioneer Woman, Walmart Razors: Superior 1900 LC GEM Brooklyn 1912 Blade: Treet (7) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Stetson AS Photo: I got a large amount of decent lather out of the new Pipe Smoke soap. I switched back to the Superior 1900 as I didn't have very much whisker growth and was concerned with the aggression level of the GEM. I believe the GEM to be more aggressive then the 1900 LC. After the first pass I found that the aggression level of a razor is relative to the technique used with that razor. I had the wrong angle with the LC is putting nicely. So I pulled the blade out of the LC and put it back in the Brooklyn 1912. Did two more passes with it. Finished of the shave with a cold water rinse than some Stetson AS. Trying to win favor with the Wife(didn't work). This did leave me with another smooth shave. Just to think I got this razor back at the beginning of June. I used it once or twice and put it up. It had teeth and we didn't see eye to eye. Now I am getting shaves that would make a dolphin jealous. Second: SOTD for 10 SEptember Shave #8 on the Treet Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 25mm Maseto Shaving(MS) Synthetic Soap: Pipe Smoke, Uncle Jon's Lather Bowl: Sundae Dish, The Pioneer Woman, Walmart Razor: GEM Brooklyn 1912 Blade: Treet (8) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Rose Petal, Thayers Witch Hazel Photo: Today's shave I wanted to use a different brush with the Uncle Jon's. Yesterdays lather I thought, didn't have very much slickness to it, but I chocked that up to the brush being on the dry side. I started this shave by soaking the brush in the lather bowl verses the smaller cup I normally soak it in. This means I had left over water in the lather dish. Today's lather was a bit wetter and a little slicker. I did a three pass shave that left me smooth and a little bit of irritation under my Adams apple but a DFS all in all. I would chock this one up as a win. I guess that makes me "WINNING".
If that brush was a marble, I would be chasing you around the playground to win that "purie" away from you.
