    Preshave: shower, Shave Secret
Soap: Williams + Cremo Cooling Shave Cream
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Razor: Vintage OCMM
    Blade: Gem Stainless SE
Post Shave: Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Cooling balm, Barbasol Brisk AS

Today was the first time I took out the Gem Open Comb Micro to use. I acquired it a month or so ago. I haven't shaved for 3 days so I could put this to the test. It's only the 2nd Micromatic razor I've used (besides the Clog-Pruf). Initially I put in a used blade which had 2 or 3 previous uses, I couldn't remember. Starting out the shave felt rough so I didn't waste anymore time and put in a new blade. So much better! It was a smooth, 2 pass shave. I didn't even have to go over my trouble spots a 3rd or 4th time. It was a CCS!

    Have a great week everyone!

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Tabac Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #217 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Schick E3 and a Personna Stainless blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tonight's shave was with one of the first Japanese Razors I attempted to hone, over a year ago. It seemed tricky, at the time, but after several attempts, it all worked out. I've learned a lot since this razor, and each time I use it, it is just a pleasure to handle. The size, weight, balance, and edge are perfect. It might not be the prettiest, because I really never was able to properly restore it, but that just adds to its character. I had an Ultra Smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS, with zero issues. Definitely one of my top shelf razors.

Razor- Japanese "Cherry 92". Best Steel
    Brush- Semogue 1800 Boar
    Soap- Stirling Glastonbury

Thank you, Doug. I am glad I finally got around to this brush. The Maggard B&W is a very nice knot for face lathering. I really enjoyed lathering today. I am looking forward to the Tabac in the morning.

Smells like the Drug Store SEptember!!!! (Stirling Booster)

    September 11

    Razor - Schick Injector E2
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
Soap - Stirling Scots Pine Sheep
    Brush - 30DC LE
    ASOD - Clubman Special Reserve

After three very nice shaves on the Schick Type M I dug out my Type E2 for a few days of shaving. I hadn't seen this razor in so long I had to hunt a bit. Loaded a fresh blade, put some pine scented sheep in a lather with the LE brush and the shave was on.

This razor is a bit more aggressive, or so it seems, than the M. Admittedly I had the M set halfway so it can get more aggressive. Just seemed to feel the blade more with this razor. Nothing wrong with that. Just different. Two passes and some light touch up to a very nice DFS. A third pass would likely have caught the baby but I suspected irritation was rising. And, the alum proved me right. Nothing outrageous but definitely a bit warmer than the past few shaves. Still, no issues at all in my mind and it was a fun and successful shave. Tomorrow morning - Clubman Special Reserve just to change things up. Don't use it much either.

We're not seeing the clouds from the remnants of Irma over us here in the Lou. We may get some of the rain if it keeps coming our direction in the next couple of days. I hope everyone in Florida and all points affected are safe and sound. And - for the Texans - I haven't forgotten about you either. Hope you're getting back to a bit of normalcy from the Harvey visit. Here's to some calmer weather as we move on through September!
