Got me to thinking. Please respond to @SharptoothC quote "I want to know who uses it and why." What do you like about them? What don't you like? If you've never tried TSD Soaps, why not?
I think they're great. I've tried the lanolin soap and the wheat cream, both with great success. I have a tub of Barber Shoppe soap right now. Really enjoy the aftershave splashes with the menthol options.
Although I don't use them often I still love them. I owe myself a lot of shaves with the ones I have, like Tea Tree, Sandalwood, Iced Subzero, etc.
I have 10 of the TSD shave sticks — all with great fragrances— but I've discovered that, just like with my having too many razors to pick from, having too many soaps often means some quality items get neglected and left out of the daily rotation. Not only do the sticks make great-smelling slick lather with a major menthol kick, they're easy to use! Thanks for this reminder! I need to incorporate some of these sticks back into the SOTD!
another vote for TSD Lanolin Bourbon Vanilla - no problems making a great lather in my hard water with TSD soaps - like the lanolin version for my dry skin - the bourbon vanilla scent is nice and strong and I have the matching A/S milk. I've actually got several TSD soaps but when I thought the store might be closing I ordered extra bourbon vanilla.
Never tried them personally as they, for me, are expensive to acquire. But a friend of mine has and he was very fond of it.
I have also ordered many times Barber Shoppe in both the as and shave soap (original). Also have used Commando Cocktail. Dave
Ok, a couple more questions as I am having difficulty getting the shop page to load today for some reason and cannot look it up on my own: 1. Are the shave sticks available in lanolin, or is it only in the tub? 2. What are the sizes of the samples? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Sticks are available in lanolin and original soap formulations. Samples are 2 oz. Not sure what the issue with the shop is. The pages are loading just fine for me.
I've used one so far-Lanolin, w/Russian Leather added. That "Imperial Leather" is part of the overall description got me to research its history, and I was most impressed to learn about the industry. I enjoyed using the soap(in concert with the RL Aftershave, by the way). Not sure what my next one will be but there WILL be a "next one".
Years ago a guy I know was telling me about Russian Leather cologne and aftershave and I thought he was only joking. Indeed this stuff does exist.
I'm sure Russian Leather's scent is different from that of Horse Saddle(from the good ol' Wild West). I still have a healthy "dose" of Russian Leather A.S., so I can compare right away when I get the latter kind. I was glad that Russian Leather is on the TSD menu.
