I used this combo for a week or so a few months ago, Clint. Between that usage and the past few days, I'd say that the Twins give an excellent, close, comfortable shave. They were part of a very generous Injector blade PIF from @Screwtape to a few of us. I do, however, feel a tinge of guilt in using them. It may be illogical, but I kind of feel they are getting close to a cartridge. Probably because of the multi-bladed aspect, as they are not housed in a cartridge holder, obviously.
September 19, 2017 Razor: Schick '500' Injector Blade: Chick Brush: Beauty Accents Kabuki Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Basically, a repeat of yesterday's shave right down to the Kabuki brush. No issues with the lather or the razor. Two passes to a comfortable near-BBS with one weeper (reopened the one from yesterday). I seem to be having a bit of a breakout along the line of my CPAP mask and keep taking the top off of one. :-(
I understand your point. I feel the same way about the OneBlade Core and Genesis with their pivoting head. For me, I concluded it was about the results not the way I got the results. I do appreciate the other side. After all I feel everyone should enjoy their shave their way.
Smells like the Drug Store SEptember!!!! (Stirling Booster) September 19 - Medical Exception Shave Razor - 1959 Gillette Super Speed Blade - (1) Soap - Stirling Sandalwood Brush - WCS Synthetic ASOD - Stetson Well, after a few days wishing I was having a pancreatic attack instead of a dental abscess, I finally was able to get myself up and around and put together a shave. I have a Dr. appointment in about an hour and a half - my usual monthly requirement for the meds I take - so wanted to look like something less than homeless. Me with no shave on 4 days of limited liquid diet begins to approach the look of a refugee. Normally after not shaving for that many days I'd break out a pain stick and make short order of the mess. Didn't really trust myself with a pain stick yet though, considering I was still having trouble finding my balance last night due to the pressure on my inner ear from the swelling and fluid buildup. Yeah, I know, it would make for one fantastic stunt shave, but once a year my brain does actually override my potentially suicidal bad ideas. This was the day. I chose the '59 Superspeed with a Voskhod knowing a more aggressive razor would be smoother against the growth, but not wanting to risk a cut. Two passes and some pretty major touch up got me to a DFS and fairly comfortably. The milder setup with the Voskhod did its job well and I'm now as handsome as I'm going to get today as well as smelling nice from the Stetson. I plan to return to work tomorrow and do need a head shave as well. I may skip that tonight, though, depending on how I feel later. And I'll probably shave again tomorrow night to get back on my routine. Here's to a great Tuesday to all and a better Wednesday for all of us!
Hope you are back to normal soon, Neal (or at least "Neal normal" anyway). Sounds like a grueling week. Hang in there, brother.
The last two days I went back to my roots. Taylor of Old Bond Street was the first non canned shaving cream I ever used. When I started DE shaving I bought a sample pack from Maggards and fell so in love with the stuff that I ended up buying 5 tubs of different scents. After SAD hit, I steered away from creams because of the massive number of soap options available with great scents and performance. After revisiting two TOBS creams over the last two days (peppermint/jermyn street), I'm reminded why I fell in love with it in the first place... the richness of the lather is absolutely unbeatable, it's foolproof to whip up and the scents are fantastic. I have soaps that perform a bit better, but in terms of enjoying the shave experience, its' up there with the best of them. I'll probably always have at least one tub of TOBS in the den. In other news, the phones just came back on at work, so we are getting relatively back to normal around here (sorta).
