Thank you, Sir. The two scents actually fit very nicely, and in the case of Ozark, it's kind of important. That soap is STRONG. Most of Rod's soaps rinse away pretty cleanly and don't leave much scent behind, but this one, if there is a fleck of soap somewhere that you didn't rinse; or you just wiped off your lower neck or ears, or got some on your T shirt? It sticks around. Both scents have an earthiness that work out with each other. It will likely happen again. The knot is a TGN Finest Fan. I have several brushes with TGN knots in them, and they have all been quite good. This is the first fan that I've bought. I like it a lot. The set worked out perfectly. (Thanks Jason! ) The handle was drilled to 26 wide (I think), which allows the knot to have a great bloom and splay, but it is also set just deep enough that it keeps some backbone. I can definitely recommend if a guy's got a project going.
September 23, 2017 OneBlade Core Feather Romera Olive WoodSynthetic C.O. Bigelow Cream My first time using this cream. Color me impressed with the performance and cooling. A very god near BBS shave. The Core required a lot more effort than the Genesis. Off for some short hikes this morning before touring some breweries this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SEptember 23 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Gatlinburg SS Robeson ShurEdge Stirling Unscented PSB Stirling Gatlinburg AS My first full Saturday off in a while, so I broke out the straight again. Not quite as good as last time, by still a nice CCS on two passes. I am trying my best to will fall here this year, so I went with some Gatlinburg for my scent. I at least feel like fall. I hope everyone has a great day!
Great looking shave, but be careful what you wish for. Almanac says it's gonna be a cold one this year.
Thank you, Jared! Every now and then, a cold winter in SE Texas is appreciated. We don't have quite the winters you northerns have.
I had an interesting shave this morning. I was running late and not willing to skip a straight razor shave, so I did a five minute single pass shave. The shocker is that I'm DFS. I can't believe that I have progressed this far and give all the credit to these monthly focus threads that I have participated in. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to make a habit of rushing my shaves, but it's nice to know that I don't need a safety razor to do it quickly. Thanks guys! Yes, they were hollowed out to 26mm wide, and most were 15mm deep. They were hollowed with lathe tools, and not drilled however, so that width my vary a bit handle to handle.
What a cool photo with the burgundy effect, Brian. Glad to hear your straight shaves have progressed so far so soon.
Sounds like a great day planned, Clint. Did you mean that this is your first day with the CO Bigelow version, or your first day with Proraso Green period? For whatever reason, that is quite surprising to me.
I've been writing about how sometimes I feel satisfied enough with the one pass, but at other times I feel areas that need the repeat performance.
Yesterday's shave was: Stirling Arkadia Maggard Plissoft Black Flare Tip Voskhod The Veg I broke out my sample of Arkadia. I really enjoy the scent. It's quite pleasant. The wife was already asleep so I opened up my decanted bottle of the Veg. Good times. Today: The Body Shoppe Maca Root Shave Cream Schick J1 (Face shave) Schick Krona (Rapira Platinum - head shave) AllMan Refined aftershave balm I am growing more and more fond of the Maca Root. It is so easy to lather, and a little goes a long way. It never fails me. The Schick were out in force, and both provided nice, close results. The AllMan is a balm I found at our new Lidl grocery store. The scent complements the Maca Root, and I found it surprisingly good. So good, in fact, that I am going back for the other two scents they carry. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
