September 24, 2017 OneBlade Core Feather FHS Romera OliveWood Synthetic CO Bigelow Cream The sanity break weekend ended this morning. A quick shower and shave and then on the road home. The cream really works well and will be a part of my travel setup going forward. Three passes and some touch ups ended with a drama free excellent shave. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
I was a little bit disappointed with today's shave. Pre De Provence 63 and a Gillette 7 O'Clock resulted in more irritation than normal which lasted all the way through Church. (Not blaming the soap/blade, just stating what was "out of the ordinary" for me.) At least the scent of Florida Water stuck with me long enough to be a mild distraction.
24 SEptember 2017 Blade Focus Shave Pre: Hot water, soap from the puck and a hot towel Razor: 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable Blade: Sputnik Teflon Coated Brush: Omega 10098 Soap: Razorock XXX Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2 After Shave: Cella Lozione Dopobarba Prior to going to the fleamarket this morning, I had a tough decision to make. Get a jump on OCtober with my NEW SC or do a blade audition with my Slim Adjustable. I opted for the audition. I've never tried the Sputnik's so I went for it. 1st pass WTG on "9", 2nd pass XTG cheeks & chin, ATG neck on "7", 1/2 pass XTG neck, with J hooking. That was all that was needed for a near BBS. Splashed on some Cella A/S and it was off to the fleamarket where I picked up a nice Gold Fat Handle Tech ca. 1946-1950 and a puck of Williams Mug Soap. $5 for the razor, $1 for the Williams. One of my ninjas may be able to lay hands on another OS Mug with a brush. Oh yeah, and my JETS finally got off the schnied against the Fish! 20-6. Oh yes!
Gem OCMM Gem Stainless (1) Semogue 2000 Arko Stick & M-Bomb Alum Superior 70 It's been a busy weekend and I haven't shaved in 2 days. While I think I might enjoy the Clog Pruf more, the OCMM gave me one heck of a 2 pass shave tonight. No irritation and well over 95% BBS. I really couldn't ask for more. It is great when I can take my time and focus on the task at hand rather than running out the door in 3 minutes. Enjoy your night.
OK, I'm not sure how you got that first video from my single days, but that last one is enough for me to commit to never purchasing a Dorco blade as long as I live.

SEptember Focusing Fine TSS S.E. London Morning B-400 with a Tuxedo knot Suribachi bowl, cool water Schick Type J-1, Chick blade Pinaud Clubman AS Lotion The first tallow soap I ever purchased was a sample of The Strop Shoppe Special Edition. Of the six little tubs, one might have been this scent. It's a shame they shut down before I got to order a full sized tub. All the scents were on the light side and I don't recall a favorite. When this near full tub came up in discussion about a trade I was appreciative. After a dribble of cool tap water softened the puck, it loaded easily with a synthetic brush. Less than a minute in the textured bowl, a couple added dribbles of water, and creamy thick lather abounded. First pass with the Twin blade had me loading a fresh Chick. That smoothed out the reduction & reduced the pulling to an easy efficient glide. Knowing the shave went well I skipped the alum and applied AS. DFS and happy here in SWLA. Good Shaves Y'all!
Did I see OCtober?!?! Yep, a week away boys and girls. More coming soon but I'm polishing up a couple of old friends and just put a new one on its path to STL.
Smells like the Drug Store SEptember!!!! (Stirling Booster) September 24 Razor - Gem 1912 Blade - (4) Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip ASOD - Aqua Velva Musk Switching things up again and going back to the Gem 1912 with PTFE Gem blade. Also skipped the pre-shave tonight and went to the Silvertip brush with the Ozark Mountain soap. Been awhile since I lathered with anything but a synthetic. Got a good load in the brush and enjoyed the luxurious splay and feel of the Silvertip. Great lather for the first pass and the feel of the SE blade was fantastic. Lather was slick. Not as slick as when using the pre-shave soap, but still Stirling slick so no issues. Two full passes and some neck touch up and the baby decided to show up. Awesome way to finish a Sunday and a work week. Two days off awaits! I'll start it off tomorrow with the AV Musk my wife loves so much. Have a great Monday everyone!
