I've been wearing this Invicta Reserve Excursion watch almost daily for close to seven years. It's rated waterproof at 660 ft, a dive watch, and has taken a lot of punishment. Even falling off the trunk lid of a car going over 40 mph, yeah, forgot I left it there.
Do any of the watch enthusiasts here have a recommendation for a tool to change bands? My wife and I recently ordered and received new bands for our Victorinox watches, and while I have a jeweler friend that would put them on for free, I'm now interested in doing it myself and maybe getting some additional bands. Edit: I also need to take a link out of a couple of metal bands.
My "when I'm not working" watch. Circa 1986-87 Work watch is a Swiss Army that I found at, where else, the fleamarket
I hit watch on the watch thread... pun! Nice display folks, I'll see if I can post my own at some point.
A jewlers screwdriver (any hardware store) and/or a straightened paperclip. All I've ever used to change bands and remove links.
My one and only... Good travel watch with an easy setting of the time zone and dual time zones displayed. Only thing is because I use it for everyday wear, the glass is getting pretty scratched up. Pretty solid otherwise, and relatively light with the titanium bracelet. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
Pretty much all I wear anymore, 1987(ish) Citizen diver, $10 ebay leather zulu band, oiled and waxed, now broken in so soft I can barely feel it. Also have a cheap oyster bracelet, a 1960s black tropical mesh band, and a Bond-type NATO that sometimes switch out.
A tool like this comes in pretty hand for strap and bracelet changes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016A8I8HC/?tag=thshde-20 If you are concerned about the tool slipping and scratching the lugs on the watch case, you can cover them with masking tape. If your bracelet links are held with pins, a tool like can be handy: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002Q8AJSM/?tag=thshde-20 You'll find many tutorial videos on YouTube showing how to use both types of tools. I included a couple below. I hope this helps!
