I have two other soaps with Lavender and Peppermint. On both soaps the lavender takes the back seat. Maybe it is something to do with the Lavender oils.
I think they pair well in theory, but lavender is just too fragile a scent to stand up to peppermint. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
That very well could be it. I have had straight lavender soaps that were as strong as any I have tried but maybe peppermint just takes over. Either way I think lavender in the background adds depth to the peppermint preventing it from becoming just a one note wonder.
Tuesday shave This razor still has the edge it came with and it is very smooth and very sharp. I thought the shave would be epic but a tiny nick and tickle from the alum left it as just an excellent shave. Smells like the Drug Store SEptember!!!! (Stirling Booster) September 25 Razor - Kai Captain Original AC Blade - (1) Soap - Stirling Scots Pine Sheep Brush - 30DC LE ASOD - Old Spice Can't have an SE focus month without some shaves from a pain stick. You really shouldn't have any month without some shaves from a pain stick. But I digress. The Kai Captain handle with Titan Mild blade is the weapon of choice. Loading up with the LE brush and the Stirling Pine Sheep. I love the sheep tallow but prefer the Electric Sheep to this one. Still, a nice soap with a nice enough hint of pine. I'm used to the sharper blades in the pain sticks these days and it showed a bit in the shave. With the mild blade I needed to get a bit more aggressive on angle and it took the first pass to get it set in place where I needed it. Second pass and neck touch up were spot on for a DFS finish with no issues. I'll start tomorrow with Old Spice to make my wife happy. She says when I wear it that it reminds her of her grandpa. Don't tell me that's not a sexy thing to say to your husband.
September 26 Tuesday morning just after midnight - still at the drugstore for a very cheap shave month Schick E2 / Personna ( 2) Neutrogena Skin Clearing Shave Cream Alum and Neutrogena Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion The Personna blade was much smoother today on its second shave. I rather suspected it would be. It 's been long enough since I last cracked open a 20-blade cartridge that I no longer know if this is true of all Personna injector blades or just this particular cartridge, but I will remember to watch for it in future -- a rough first shave and then very good smooth ones afterwards. My usual two passes brought me a DFS with silent alum. I added the lotion just to finish the routine. I think tomorrow I will move on to the Pal adjustable. I have never used one before so I will be interested to see what it's like.
26 SEptember Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: JR #180 22mm Badger Soap: Gravity, Uncle Jon's Shaving Soap Razor: Superior 1900 Blade: PAL (2) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Brisk Spice, Avon Photo: I get such a close shave from the early GEM Brooklyn 1912 that Tom looked at for me that I didn't needed to shave the day after, so I skipped yesterday. Today I was ready to get back to it. I picked up some Avon Brisk Spice on Sunday from a local shop. If the bottle wasn't full it only had a couple of uses on it. I paired it with Uncle Jon's Gravity Soap. The fresh PAL blade made short work of the stubble with the three pass shave. Finished the shave with a cold water rinse then some of the Brisk Spice. This all lead to a DFS, not quite a BBS but a DFS that I would chalk up as a win all the same. Has anybody else used the Brisk Spice? I do not believe Avon is offering it anymore. Does anyone know what scent available today would be comparable?

SEptember 26th PAL Injectomatic TGN Boar Stirling Gentleman Thayers P&G Old Spice Pulled out the 'meatgrinder' for this morning's shave. I find this my most aggressive razor, and really focus on the lightest touch possible. Decided on the Gentleman- the fact that I have to leave the house at 6:30 for an early meeting and thus won't be having breaky with my wife had absolutely no bearing on me choosing this excellent soap . I whipped up a super lather and 3+ passes later had really nice shave. No weepers and only a small bit of unseeable stubble on my chin stopped this from being a bbs. Finished with the P&G, using Chris's (@Bama Samurai) advice to up the volume, and all is good. Have a great day all!
SEptember 26, 2017 OneBlade Genesis V2 Feather FHS Rudy Vey RV7 with Shavemac Finest Reef Point Test Depth Witch Hazel with Menthol Cool Water EDT Even though I am moving a little slow this morning, I was still able to enjoy a wonderful shave. Reef Point soaps are so easy to lather and the performance is first rate. I went with a three pass shave and paid particular attention to skin stretching and my lower right neck. The results were much better than yesterday. Had I did that on extra pass on my lower right neck I would have caught the baby. However the results are more than acceptable for a Tuesday. A splash of Witch Hazel with menthol followed by the Cool Water EDT and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
Great looking razor. Lovely setup and photo Perry. Fantastic travel setup Brian. Safe travels. Great setup and photo Jason.
