That is a beautiful bowl! I'm not in, as I primarily face lather and it should go to someone who will use it. But mad props! Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Tonight's shave: Stirling Boar Stirling Iced Pineapple 1966 Gillette Slim Personna Lab Blue Brut Quick but nice 2 pass shave. I used my new and formerly incredible crusty Slim, which has cleaned up well and turned out to be a very nice razor. I really like the Personna blades that @PLAla so kindly sent me. They work well with my face. The Stirling brush continues to shed exponentially. At this point and am looking for info on how best to remove the knot from it, and recommendations on which knot might be a good replacement. I am mostly looking for synthetics. Stirling Pineapple never disappoints. I'm surprised at how well it paired with Brut Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
SEptember Old Stylin' Route 66 Retro Spice Old Spice ceramic mug B-400/ Omega 98 boar Osaka Suribachi bowl Schick Type J-2 razor Personna Twin blades Alum, Shulton Old Spice I'm getting better at this Focusing Thing. Knowing OCtober is getting close there's anticipation, but SE's have been treating me well. The Route 66 shave soap helps to keep me on track, too. I mashed the sample into my oldest Hull Pottery mug, then had to be careful while loading so I didn't bang the solid aluminum brush. Ended up with more soap loaded that I thought so it took quite a bit of cool tap water to reach the wet lather I prefer. First pass with the Twin blades told me time for a fresh set. Fortunately John @Screwtape was generous sharing his score of vintage injector consumables. Three and a half passes later I'd used up the lather and didn't miss a bit. I don't remember ever getting this close of a shave with a Mach II. Alum reported in cool and clear, and the fresh bottle of vintage Old Spice brought the soap scent forward. Good Shaves Y'all!
As a few other people have already said, that's a gorgeous bowl, Jason! And it looks like you have made the dowel button agitators idea work too.
Wednesday, September 27 - shaving after midnight with the other vampires Have you ever considered the problems one of those suave, sophisticated movie-type vampires must have in maintaining his debonair image? No reflection in the shaving mirror... PAL Adjustable injector / Personna (1) Neutrogena Skin Clearing Shave Cream Alum and Neutrogena Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion Today I tried the Pal adjustable injector for the first time. I found that, apart from a longer handle, using it was just like using the Supply Provision Single Edge (or vice versa). Same angle and everything. I shaved with the injector knob set at the far left or "L" position, which I assume stood for "Low" or "Light", with the "H" on the far right meaning "High" or "Heavy". One pass and a touch of cleanup on my neck using just the residual slickness from the first lathering and I am very near a BBS. I had one tiny weeper in my goatee area where I hit a contour change a bit wrong and didn't skin stretch enough. I think it may also be partly due to the first-use roughness of the Personna blade again. Alum was a little warm on my throat -- doing the cleanup without relathering was not the brightest idea I have ever had. Overall, however, a really good shave with a really nice razor. As I use the Neutrogena regularly, I have noticed one thing about it that I don't terribly like. It spreads easily and can be worked into the whiskers without a brush, and the glide, protection and post-shave face feel are excellent. However, in use, it has a tendency to clog the razor. I have to rinse the razor regularly during the shave and what comes off the razor is semi-solid chunks of gummy gel residue mixed with whiskers. Regular lathered soaps and creams do not clog up like this. It's not a big problem using a DE or SE razor, but I certainly wouldn't care to shave with a multi-bladed cart with this stuff. Hope the week is treating everyone well so far.
The bowl looks gorgeous. The bowl is certainly a very generous PIF. I am not in since I face lather exclusively. Such a beautiful bowl should go to someone that can truly enjoy it.

SEptember 27, 2017 OneBlade Genesis V2 Feather FHS Rudy Vey RV7 with Shavemac Finest CRSW Jeff’s Soap Floid Blue I tried to get through the MW Lilac soap but I just couldn't do it. Since Wade likes the scent the remainder goes to him. Substituting in will be CRSW Jeff's soap. I find the soap performs very well and is easy to lather with a light pleasant scent. The big RV7 loaded up easy and whipped up a mountain of lather. Sticking with a traditional 3 pass shave, I tried to pay attention to my trouble spots and skin stretch as I went. With minimal touch ups and an additional pass on my lower right neck, I ended up with a near perfect shave. A splash of Floid Blue and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
27 SEptember Williams Wednesday Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 24mm Silvertip, Fraank Shaving Soap: Williams Razor: Valet, Autostrop Blade: Feather FHS-10 (6) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse / Stetson After Shave Photo: The photo was inspired by @clint64 and his B&W photos. So I really didn't need to shave this morning. Yesterday's shave was better than I originally thought, but today is Williams Wednesday I didn't want to miss out on any of the fun. The blade is a Feather High Stainless with 6 shaves on it. I believe the blade is starting to wane. I have a pack of the Feather CS blades and a strop I am going to try out next month to see how long I can make that blade last.

I really like this limited edition scent from Stirling that's based on Abercrombie Fierce cologne. Great scent and excellent skin care as expected from Stirling. The G8 injector was easy to use as always and swiped away the lather and whiskers efficiently and easily. Nothing much more to report! I have thoroughly enjoyed Stirling SEptember. Terrific products. Enjoy your day!

Maiden Shave of my new Brian Brown razor. 7/8th with a round tip and a fantastic edge. My honing still has a long way to go. Route 66 is so easy to use, great lather with the big boar. Finished up with heavily mentholated Island Lime aftershave. I'm BBS, but had one painless weeper. Good shave.
SEptember 27th PAL Injectomatic 30DC LE Jeeves of Hudson St. Apothecary Thayers Aqua Velva Ice Sport Went back to back with the Injectomatic after a very good shave yesterday. Used this new bowl for the first time- it seemed comfortable enough in the hand and produced a quality Jeeves lather. I had three light passes with a bit of neck touch up and am very near BBS. Some good, cheap stink to end and am ready to face the day. Have a great day all!
