  7. Noddy from Slade was the prototype for the "hair metal howl" and he inspired a genre of singers from Ratt to Def Leppard. It's really what separates Slade from its contemporary glam bands like T Rex. Noddy was an original.

    My vote-- note even close. Slade in a landslide.
