    Hot water wash
    Rubberset 150/custom two band finest
Bombed Tampa Shave Company Mango Lime
    Tampa Shave Company Chrome Shorty
    Omega alum (not pictured)
Tampa Shave Company Mango Lime aftershave
Today's shave was nice. The mango lime has a great aroma, but further, it makes terrific smooth, slick, rich lather. The namesake razor is very aggressive, but with light pressure and good technique, a bbs is a sure bet. I used alum, then finished with the matching aftershave. My only complaint being the amount of aftershave that comes out of the dispenser cap (and that it comes in glass). Overall a better than average experience.
Hope y'all did as well, or better. 20170928_080726_resized(1).jpg

Today's shave from my Soap Review Thread. I'll get back to pics when I'm not busy sampling, sniffing, selecting and reviewing:

Today I had the best shave I've had in a week using Sudsy Soapery. Performance wise, this one is a keeper. Good lather you can make thick or thin, and really good performance in every aspect. I don't put much weight into face feel, because it's not something I really think about in a warm, tropical climate. "My face feels fine" is usually my thought, unless a soap is particularly drying or deficient. Having said that, my face is noticeably irritation free and soft. Where I struggle a bit with this soap is scent. The scent strength is really good, but most of the scents just aren't up my alley. I had a tub of Jack Frost and traded it away because great performance wasn't enough to override a scent that just didn't do it for me. I'm not a bay rum guy, and the sandalwood mixes don't really excite me either. The scents I really do like are already represented in my den. Would I replace a Stirling Almond Cream, Cella, or TOBS Peppermint when they are done with a SS Almond Cream or SS Peppermint & Lavender? Absolutely. Do I feel an urgent need to trade these out of my den? Not really. Right now, if the scents were right it'd be among my top keepers, and will still probably make its way into my den at some point. However, it's going to go at the top of my honorable mention list for now. (By the way, the difference between a "keeper" and an "honorable mention" is a matter of personal preference more than anything. These are all good soaps)

Sudsy Soapery has a unique post shave feel for me, maybe it's the clay in the formula that leaves me so smooth. This was my first use of the Stirling Boar brush and I realize that I need to learn the best ways to use it. I'm used to synthetics, and the amount of soap load needed, so I'll need to adjust that a bit, as well as how much pressure to use when face lathering. This one has already softened up nicely after soaking for 12 hours, and it will only get better. There was no funky smell on this brush. The handle is very well done - it feels comfortable and solid in the hand.

    For my Friday morning shave:

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Astra day 5
    TSD Iced Subzero SS
    Gold Bond Moisturizer
    Osage Rub AS Splash

Do I like this Synergy Frost_byte soap? Truthfully, no. Yes, it's very easy to lather and it has a LOT of menthol to it but the scent to me is not pleasant and it doesn't really have such great skincare. I made a big mistake when I bought it, but once it's finished I'll say good riddance. Therefore, I've decided to postpone using it for as long as I can and enjoy a shave with a soap that I haven't used in a long time. JoAnna's Iced Subzero is wonderful - better lather than this Frost_byte any time, smells better, and has terrific skincare in addition to its menthol effect. The Rubby Dubby Doo has to be part of my aftershave rotation at ALL times because I love it so much.
