I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The VDH Deluxe Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 badger brush. I did two passes with the Igor razor by Tom and a CVS SE blade. It was a very comfortable shave. I had it set wide open and didn't know it. The angle was easy to get. After the first pass, I was going to change the setting, and discovered that the blade was all the way back, so I moved it all the way forward. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... The only weird thing was that after rinsing, the razor wanted to hold on to water like the 1924 Shovelhead. I just gave it a few extra shakes and continued.

When I started this wet-shaving adventure my first soap puck was the VDH Luxury. Today I went back to my roots, and I was reminded again how much I love this scent. Not only does it smell great, it's so easy to build a soft, cushiony lather. This was the first shave with this Ever-Ready razor loaded with a new Blue Star blade. At first it seemed unremarkable.... not bad.... but not necessarily great at the time. However, afterwards... after the post-shave I realized I achieved BBS. I've been rubbing my face since in awe. I told my wife about the wonderful shave with the newly acquired SE razor. She smiled and patiently shook her head. I'm still trying to convince her to give up on the cartridges.

Blue/Black Shaving Mug 1985
This mug is heavy pottery with a deep blue or black glaze and was sold in two different gift sets in 1985. One set included a shaving brush and razor while the other included only the brush. The only decoration is the single white ship in silhouette. I believe this may have been distributed outside the U.S. market because it is dated 1985 yet the packaging is not consistent with the 1981 logo change. The back of the box is marked "Old Spice Accessories made under license from Shulton, Inc. 1985" "Made in Taiwan R.O.C. for Cosrich Inc., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861" Dimensions: 3.25" high by 5" rim to handle.

Jamie's Night Shave...

• STIRLING Margaritas in the Artic Glacial / W.H. Aloe / Splash
• PAA ROCKET - 26mm synth - handle mimics a rare vintage ever-ready, beast of a brush for 12.95 [bargain].
• Lady Eversharp injector - Schick Type H aka "the HUSSY". Had this for months and finally used it for 1st time loaded with a NOS Vintage K-Mart blade. I did a 3 pass shave with a lots of pick ups on the neck. The 1st 2 passes I did not have proper angle and it was not cutting enough and was too mild, once I finally found the angle, wow was it cutting like a Type E but easier. I need to dig out some birdlielives posts as he explained the angle in detail - fun shave and I look forward to learning proper angle for all passes.
