Found this minty Edwin Jagger Chatsworth in Faux Ivory in antique store today. It was in a Ziploc bag with four tucks of Astra blades. I also got the matching razor/brush stand. All for $15. Couldn't say no. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I know right! It was way out of place. That razor goes for $95 new. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I picked up another 500. This one for about $40 and it came with the cardboard box. It still has the blade blank installed and the case is in very good condition so I'm going to assume it's never been used.
Beautiful Apollo. Carries the pre-war patent but if the case is original I'm convinced it could be manufactured as late as '52 (as it looks a lot like the early post war Merkur and Mikron stuff). Chromed head is perfect, silver plated handle like most Apollos has some plate loss, but no complaints, 'tis a beautiful razor. 83g Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Thanks. You usually see this head with what people call the deco handle. Unless this is the same razor that @Jake had, I've seen just a couple like this one. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Just a Flare Rocket and a Stag brush. The razor cleaned up decently; may try it tonight. The Stag brush I'm not sure what I'll restore it with, maybe a Tuxedo.
Along with a German 37 head I received a Razorock Old Type head. For anyone wondering, no it's not a copy of the Gillette Old Type, neither the baseplate nor cap match in any dimension. More of an Old Type style tribute than a substitute for the original. I no longer have my Merkur/Hoffritz so can't speak to how it matches up to the Razorock G37. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Received a bottle of Thayers Lemon Witch Hazel and a Nibbling tool from Amazon. I will fool around with the nibbler to see if I can modify a GEM blade to work in the OneBlade v2.0 just for the fun of it. Steve
Got this handle in and started working on it. Still have some polishing and will likely have to bore it a little more to set the knot lower. Havent decided but will likely paint the letters gold to match the base. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
