Yeah. I'd forgotten about alternate sources. I tend to shop Maggard's first. THanks Linuxguile & Jmudrick.
When a retailer introduces a branded DE it's a pretty safe bet you can pick up the same razor elsewhere. They're all relying on the same OEM guys in India/Taiwan/Pakistan. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I have only one safety razor and that’s a Feather All Stainless-Steel Double-Edge Razor, Model AS-D2. Pretty pricey but it will get the job done and leaves zero irritation. In three passes I can get a BBS shave. Hope this helps.
In no particular order, Gillette Red Tip Gillette President 1912 Gem/Ever Ready/whatever Clix EZ Flo (metal) Schick E2 Honorable Mention: as a class, all Gillette TTOs between the late '30s up to the adjustables (excluding the Knack/Slim Twist)

My favorites. No idea if they're the best because I haven't tried them all. Plus, it's pretty subjective. Blackland Vector Colonial SS General Muhle Rocca R96 (V3) Parker Variant RR Game Changer
My top 5 shaving safety razors are all DE. Here’s my list. 1. Rex Ambassador 2. PAA The Flight DOC travel razor 3. Wardonia Black Prince 4. 1956 Gillette red tip 5. Above The Tie Calypso H1
1. Gillette Old Type (thick cap with ball end handle). 2. Gillette NEWs Long and Short combs (with ball end handles). 3. Merkur 34G 4. Gillette Tech (pre or post doesn't matter to me, slight preference for the solid ball end handle). 5. Feather ASD2 ( a Gillette-length handle and no logo on the top cap and it would be perfect).
