What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Tonight's shave was with another German razor. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues. Very well built razor.

Razor- Dovo, Best Quality. Solingen Germany.
Brush- Omega 10066 Boar. Lots and lots of Backbone.
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice, 1986. Red, Gold, and Blue lettering and ship.

 

It's a beauty!

 

Wow, I would have just gone to $25 given the condition of the razor.

It was time to use the Henry Sears and Son razor. It was a nice shave overall, but I'll touch it up on my Naniwa 12k tonight.

Tonight's shave was with another razor I rarely use, because it just looks too pretty to possibly mess up. I had a buttery smooth 2 pass shave, with very minor touch-ups, that left me BBS. Excellent razor.

Razor- J.A.Henckels, 70 1/2. Zwillingswerks.
Brush- Stirling Boar. Super soft, with just the right amount of backbone for face lathering.
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Riverboat Bottle.

 

Dovo 5/8 Made from Swedish Steel.Refreshed edge on J-Nat.Then 30 Laps on the FelsnerRuby Hone.Edge came out great.Smooth and Keen.BBS in three passes.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Col. Conk Lime Shaving Soapface-lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 badger brush. I did the first pass with the Henry Taylor 5/8 razor and cleaned up with my Igor by Tom and a CVS SE blade. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

I used my Genco fluid steel razor this morning. It was a two pass shave as that's all I needed to get virtually BBS!

 

Brian Brown 6/8" custom French-point. Such a smooth shaver!

Today's shave was with a Japanese Kamisori. I had a good 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. This was my first Kamisori, and I think I will take it back to the stones, and put a western edge on the blade, just to make the shaves easier.

Aftershave- Arctic Blue

Back at home after a hellacious week, and was it ever nice to be in my own bathroom with one of my favorite razors. This Brian Brown holds an edge maybe like no other I have used. Six days of growth peeled off in one careful WTG pass, and I was able to enjoy the next two passes like it had only been yesterday since I shaved.

 

Mappin and Webb Hollow Ground 5/8 Wonderful Shave .Dolphin Smooth in two passes.

This was my first go with my new Translucent Arkansas Hone. This hone definitely improved my edge from the Welsh slate 15K and the shave was excellent!
