So, I won this Blue Tip (my favorite Super Speed) on the Bay for $14 (+ $4 shipping). My plan was to play around with it, customizing it at home. Paint the blue tip black, maybe the handle red. No worries about messing it up because I have 2 other Blue Tips. But there is something in me that just doesn't want to change it. I am such a purist! I don't even want to repaint the blue tip BLUE for cryin out loud. It's an $18 razor - why can't I do it LOL!!!!!
Because you recognize a classic look that works as is! Now, an all-black Red Tip with a bright orange-red knob would be tough looking.
Don't blame you. However, since you do already have two others, a complete revamp might be a thought...
I understand. If I had two other blue tips in my collection, then maybe I would lit my creative juices flow.
Clean it up real purdy, pick up some blue nail polish at the Dollar General and make it your own. It not like your taking it to your bench grinder.
I have a broken English Rocket Flare that I plan on resurrecting with a 1955 flare. Kind of makes me cringe, but I can get them for $5 a piece, so I'll be making a Frankenrazor soon. I'm a bad bad man.
The TTO knob was gone and the threads are toast, so swapping the shaft of the T-bar and the handle. Yes I maybe crazy.
Well, the brush got away from me a bit at the top, but other than that it at least doesn't look worse than before. The handle is an automotive touch up paint in a shade of pewter, and the bottom and top are Testers model paint.
