What an excellent way to start my birthday! These Heljestrand blades treated me wonderfully and gave me a close, smooth uneventful shave with ease. I was a bit cautious on the first pass, but on the second and last pass I was more confident and I could navigate the face with ease. A commentary on the feel of these blades: love it! It's always present the blade, it's the razor that I own where the blade feel is very, very present, but as it is very sharp the experience was smooth nonetheless. Even more so than with a modern GEM razor that I tried last shave.

The B&M Bay Rum was the first Bay Rum that I tried and i fell in love with it as soon as I opened the can. A very spicy, hot and pungent fragrance, that stayed for the whole duration of the shave. Very easy to lather, a dense, slick and hydrated lather galore! Top quality.

My compliments to each and everyone of you, and wish you a day at least as good as mine!

2 pass BBS on the neck (wearing a beard at the moment). Cannot complain about this unit, especially for the price. Maybe I got a non-defective one but it aligns right and does what it's supposed to. Aggression, as expected, falls somewhere in the Blue Tip/regular flare tip SS range, as best I could tell.

The blade, wet stropped before the shave, reminds me of a basic Dorco; I doubt I could tell the difference blindfolded (not suggesting it is Dorco, surely it isn't).

Anyway, I can't complain. A working one is worth a buck and a half for a travel throwaway, but no doubt could serve as a daily shaver if it had to.

Fantastic - that's all I can say. From the Stirling Mentholated pre-shave soap to the Snake Bite aftershave, it was fantastic. My Plissoft synthetic made the MITA explode in to rich, slick, awesome lather which gave me a great chill, my Super Speed/Astra combination killed that tough stubble, and the Snake Bite hit me with its POWERFUL freeze without stinging me first. BBS as BBS could be!

Hope you enjoy your shaves as much as I enjoyed mine and I wish you all a wonderful day!

Fragrance - Tommy Hilfiger (Original 90's Vintage)
Aftershave - Tommy Hilfiger (Original 90's Vintage)
Shave Soap - Catie's Bubbles '95 Liquid Labels Luxury Shave Soap Formula
Deodorant - Lucky Girl Boutique's Pure Body Delights "Tommy Boy"
    Pre-Shave Oil - Lather & Wood "Unscented"
Post-Shave Balm - Nicci Marie Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Aging Serum
Razor - Antique Gillette ABC "Empire" Razor circa 1908-1912 (fully restored/re-plated by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - BiC Chrome-Platnium
Razor Stand - ThinkGeek Executive Knight Pen Holder
Brush - London Cutlers Antique Silver Modified Synthetic Boar Hair
Brush Stand - Jac Zagoory's Butterfly Pen Stand
Soap Bowl - Paul Revere silver plated replica sugar bowl

I'm beginning to think the BiC Chrome-Platinum is the best blade of that I have tried. It has worked beautifully in every razor I tried and now I found it the best in my Old-Type ABC razor. Smooth and sharp at the same time. Such a breeze to shave with and zero irritation on the post-shave. My face is remarkably smooth with just 1-pass and cleanup. I will someday test a full 2 pass shave with a cleanup. I have no doubt that it will shave perfectly and give no irritation because the shave today was just smooth with no tugging and it clearly cut the stubble like no stubble was even there in the first place. Very clean, smooth and irritation-free shave. The BiC Chrome-Platinum is currently my favorite blade as of now. It's been the most versatile and worked in the most different kinds of razors. It also performed the best in my Sterling Soaps Slant Razor.
