Are Beau Mec or Adelco still around? I LOVED them both. I traded with a very nice guy from Mytilini for them several years ago. He sent me also a couple of excellent olive oil bath soaps, but they were not Faena.

Beau Mec is also discontinued, Adelco can be found at a few stores, not anywhere.

IN cyprus, I can only get Wilkinson and Astor blades, kaloderma and palmolive shaving creams in a tube and that's it.

    Jayaruh #224
    Old Type by @twhite
    Gillette Silver Blue
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Mitchell's Wool Fat face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #224 synthetic brush. I did the two passes with the Gillette Old Type by Tom and Gillette Silver Blue blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

It's not that I was a BiC 'fan'. I am just going where my testing journey takes me. Right now, the BiC Chrome-Platinum is a stellar blade. I did not expect that it would be considering that very few people even mention it, let alone say it's their favorite. In all my tests on my various razors the BiC Chrome-Platinum has been both smooth and sharp. I haven't gotten the best of both worlds in any other blade. I would say that Feather Hi-Stainless shaves the closest in my Edwin Jagger Kelvin because of that epic sharpness, but the BiC C-P is right there in that class. Every razor I've figured has it's own thing. The Edwin Jagger Kelvin is so laid back on the shave that the Feather blade still feels smooth on the shave, but the ridiculous sharpness of the Feather makes for the closest shave. Since the BiC CP is so close in the outcome vs the Feather, I have zero problem going exclusively with the BiC CP.

I've found that every blade I own shaves comfortably and has a good result in both the Edwin Jagger Kelvin and the Merkur "1904". Most likely because they are some of the least aggressive shavers you can buy. I've found that the shavers where the blade matters most are the aggressive ones.

I wasn't going to say it, but I was planning on potentially ditching the Stirling Soaps Slant because I couldn't find a comfortable blade that worked with it. Until the just this past round where the BiC CP actually didn't rip my neck raw and was genuinely 'comfortable' in the Sterling Soaps Slant and the shave was very nice post-shave with virtually no irritation that I was getting with every other blade I tried.

In the Old-Type, the only other blade that is on-par with the BiC CP is the Wilkinson Sword. I have yet to test the Wilkinson Sword in the Sterling Soaps Slant, but the good cross-result I got from the BiC CP has me thinking that I will likely have a good shave from it as well.

I waited until this ultra-aggressive Old-Type shaved with it before mentioning how good my experiences have been in all my razors. The '47-'52 Gillette Superspeed with this BiC Chrome-Platinum is, IMO, my best shave of all my razor+blade combos that I've tried so far when it comes to my criteria of 1) comfort during the shave, 2) post-shave smoothness of skin and 3) minimizing of post-shave irritation/redness.

I also want to say that the post shave feel of Catie's Bubbles Luxury Soap formula he currently makes is stellar stuff and now that I found a blade that works great in the Old-Type, I'm going to try to use the Old-Type in my shaves more often.

Woah. somebody's fancy. Nice Razor, brush and stand. Where did you get the brush stand from?

And Tom Ford for Men fragrance on the finish? Who's been coaching you? This whole setup is suspicious.

Another BBS with the Timeless OC. The iKon Bamboo handle suits me well. I didn't want to take my Old Spice decanters and products into the woods for pictures last month.
