I have a Georgetown and a Dirty Bird Brush Scuttle and the Dirty Bird keeps the lather much hotter and for longer than the Georgetown.
Hot Lather AHHHHHHH! I use a Coffee Mug with a glass Custard dish that sits on top and slightly inside, fill the mug with as hot water as you can get and place the custard dish in the mug so the bottom of the dish is in the wate in the mug, after you wip up your lather leave the brush in the mug custard dish combo and youll have hot later everytime you go back to the brush,a cheap way to have a hot 3-4 pass shave, Grottolord
Same experience here. The Dirty Bird holds much more water than the Georgetown so there's more heat! But, for me, the Georgetown makes lather more easily (I like the larger inner bowl) and it looks cooler!
I've used a small stainless steel pet food bowl. It can sit (or float!) in the basin or place it in a larger bowl of hot water. Cheap and good heat transfer from the water outside. Remember to let the cat/dog finish eating before you take it. Pete
