I have Stirling's Executive Man with menthol and I love it. What are some other aftershaves that are attempted recreations of good cologne scents? Really only interested in the good ones, but feel free to tell me if I should avoid any.
Fine Platinum is another Aventus clone. Stirling Sharp Dressed Man and Eskimo Tuxedo (menthol) are Green Irish Tweed clones. B&M Reserve Spice - Old Spice Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
I have tried several from Razorock XXX = AdP Colonia Tight Buns = Creed GIT Son of Zeus = Tere de Hermes Freedberg = Creed Aventus
I don't know anything about Green Irish Tweed, but I'm not sure I want a bottle of something called Tight Buns on my shelf.
I've tried all of these and consider them worthy: Stirling Executive Man and Fine Platinum - Creed Aventus Fine American Blend - Yves St. Laurent Rive Gauche Stirling Sharp Dressed Man - Green Irish Tweed Stirling Dunshire - Armani Acqua Di Gio Stirling Sandpiper - Yves St. Laurent La Nuit de l'Homme Stirling Arkadia - Terre d'Hermes Stirling Mountain Man - Creed Silver Mountain Water
For my face, nothing beats PAA aftershaves for scent longevity, and impressive scents, both classic and new. I've got about 20 bottles of the stuff, and I have yet to meet one I don't like.
Current RazoRock offerings(In addition to XXX and Son of Zeus that Keith listed): Emperor = Freedberg = Creed Aventus Irish Countryside = Tight Buns = Creed GIT American Barber = YSL Rive Gauche pour homme

I sense a pattern...6 out of 7 ain't bad . But to be frank, Stirling does well with cologne-immitaters.
One of my absolute favorites (I have #9 before the name change), but I would not call an imitation gun cleaner scent a cologne clone. I agree PAA makes some of the best AS’. For reference, here is some of the PAA scents and their equivalents: Lo Haiku: Hai Karate Steeplechase: Polo Sport Han Polo: Polo Sacre Bleu: Aqua Velva Aqua D: Aqua Di Parma Clubguy: Pinaud Clubman Cold Spices: Shulton's Old Spice Déjà Fougère: Fougere Royale Vloid: Floid Amber Chella Cool: Cella Agua Dulce: Florida Water Sun Down: Gillette Sun Up CaD: Original Barbasol Alt Eleven: Alt Innsbruck Tweed: Creed's Green Irish Tweed Black Bot: Black Belt Porthos: Aramis Steve
Oh, I didn't mean to suggest Home On The Range is a cologne scent-I was focusing on that aftershave itself-but yes, I suppose I went "off thread".
Calling @Tim Spencer He's comissioned many a high end aftershave clone in his search for shaving Nirvana.
Yeah, I understand. Home on the Range is one of those scents that you either think is crazy our you really like. It works for me. The funny thing is that I don't know many of the cologne scents from the original products. I just experiment and try what sounds interesting to me. I have been fairly happy/lucky with my selections/purchases so far. Steve
I recently was pointed to the fact that that Aqua Velva Ice Sport is in the realm of Cool Water & Aspen.. I checked it out (again) after owning Aspen and I agree that it's in the same vicinity.
Both based on Creed Aventus. I've used both the Fine and Stirling varieties. They are quite similar, of course, but I find the Executive Man to be more nuanced. Platinum is "in your face" and Executive Man is more tailored. They are both great.
I've never smelled real Cool Water but TSD's Cool Water Type aftershave smells great. It's not a very strong scent but I really enjoy it while it lasts. It has that fresh sea breeze scent that a lot of people have used to describe the real Cool Water so I'd imagine that it must be similar.
Don't forget about Floid Black or Wm Neumann Absolute Zero. Both are very nice Aventus clones. The Wm Neumann is my favorite, although I haven't tried the Executive Man aftershave--the bath soap is awesome, so I expect the aftershave is also very good...
